Colorado shooter, it was a semi auto pistol.

It was not an rifle, it was a pistol with a stock on it. A semi auto pistol, they are suppressing this fact also. You all must pay attention of how devious the left is manipulating the narrative, leaving out details to make the tragedy fit their sick narrative.

from DenverPost:

The suspect purchased a Ruger AR-556 pistol on March 16, six days before the mass killing, according to his arrest affidavit. Police recovered a rifle and a handgun inside the grocery store next to the tactical vest believed to be worn by the suspect, according to the affidavit, though it’s not clear whether the Ruger gun is the handgun or the rifle referenced in the document.

The Ruger AR-556 pistol is not technically a rifle, though many features of its design echo a rifle’s set-up.

“It’s not a sporting rifle, it’s not a hunting rifle,” said Joseph Vince, a professor at Mount St. Mary’s University who worked as a Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives agent for more than 30 years. “It’s made for the military and short-range combat.”

The gun comes in two barrel lengths — either 9.5 or 10.5 inches — that are both shorter than the 12-inch definition of a handgun under Colorado law. The gun also has a brace on the back, which allows users to hold the gun against their shoulder for stabilization. Users can also equip a scope and, unlike many other pistols, ammunition is fed to the gun through a detachable magazine that is separate from the pistol’s grip.

Comments:
Actually, it does have a brace, which is designed to wrap around the arm to facilitate shooting the weapon one handed. According to the BATF, it is NOT supposed to be used as a stock like on a rifle. The BATF caused an uproar a few months ago by putting out a statement regarding another brand of pistol with a brace (can't recall the brand off the top of my head) that that particular pistol was illegal, and they were calling that weapon a short barrel rifle (SBR for short) which requires a tax stamp from the US government. They have since walked back on that. There's a lot more info on all this on You Tube from guys like MrGunsandGear, and Guns and Gadgets, and others.
Bottom line, this weapon is a pistol designed for self defense. But, the benefit of a weapon like this is people that are unable to hold or shoot a rifle, but want to shoot a rifle cartridge like 5.56 can shoot this by using the brace to hold it with one hand.
Yes, it has a short barrel length also. The guy that did this is an idiot and he was known to the FBI, they have the strict background checks in CO., and yet they let this guy purchase a firearm. The FBI has lots of blood on its hands and should be held responsible. Jerks, they go after the easy prey, US citizens, like at the capitol, when they should be interrogating REAL terrorists like this leftist America hating muslim POS.
They will tell the narrative the way the swamp creatures tell them to.

The dem agenda is to eventually ban all guns from law abiding citizens. (Of course, they won't take the guns away from the gangs, thugs etc.)

Until they can meet their agenda, we can expect to see a few more mass shooting reports on the msm, and there will be anti gun protests, and members of congress will say we need to do something about it. But they're all full of crap.

Now consider the fact that from Jan 1, 2016 thru Mar 22, 2021, there were 1,716, let me repeat that... One thousand, seven hundred sixteen, murders just in Baltimore alone. What happened in Colorado, happens almost three times a month in Baltimore as for the total number of victims. So when congress and the msm want to ban guns after every "mass shooting," I think their outrage is in the wrong place.

Agreed GR.
