Hard to kill.

OK Volvos are tough! But I want you to imagine that if this is the way the current set of politicos deal with perfectly good cars,  how do you think they will deal with perfectly good older people?  Yeah that's right,  we'll just put some sand and clotting agents down their throats and recycle em!

This video is quite painful to watch for myself because I am one of those persons that love to make things run forever,  and destroying a perfectly good Volvo that if cared for, can go 500K+ miles is disturbing.  It is the same idiots that don't realize the environmental toll it takes to recycle a vehicle,  the hybrids are even worse when their time comes.

Enjoy change we can believe in!

Comments:
I owned a Volvo that was a POS which ate parts like a rabbit eats greens, so it didn't pain me too much to watch that. Do they do that to every vehicle before crushing? Current vehicle is 15 years old and runs just fine, expect it to run a few more years.
They did have a bad design run in the late 80's early 90's. That stinks.
Don't blame Obama for this. Blame the morons destroying a perfectly good car. Whatever happened to personal responsibility?
I didn't blame BO for this I blamed the politicos for creating the environment which promotes this behavior, I don't think that Volvo qualified as a clunker unless it is blown up! People destroy perfectly good stuff on you tube every day!

The politicos had this up their sleeves for awhile, I'd like to know if they will subsidize a new dish washer for my kitchen, the one I have leaves stains on my butter knives.
I have a gut feeling some dealers are going to be left holding the bag on this cash for klunkers deal because the government is going to be slow pay or no pay on many .... even though funds are supposed to be coming. Read but not verified that Katrina money hasn't been paid out .... so no hurry to pay dealers when bankers are getting their pockets filled with new finance.

Also feel many purchasers are going to be out in the cold when some of the deals backfire and have to be undone AFTER their cars have been squashed. Similar stuff has happened with normal deals after the person's trade in has been sold, therefore unretrievable. Cash for klunkers has been a rush job which will likely render similar outcomes.
Funny video. I can make one of those too. I really want the new Kia Soul so if you can think of a way to destroy my Camry's engine, let me know. Of course then it would lose its $10,000 trade-in value. Car sales are way up and a government program is actually working. The opposition said it wouldn't fly, and now that it's a big hit, they're still complaining.   Last time I signed on to LP there was a forged birth certificate created by a woman who got a "law degree" on the internet.   Last night I saw her on TV and she was certifiable.

157,000 cars were sold in a very short time. Dealers who sat on inventory for several months are almost out of cars. This is not only good for our economy, it's great for the environment. A lot of people are trading in cars that burn oil and get 10mpg for cars like the Prius.

It's not even helping poor people, so I can't understand your gripe. You usually complain about poor people getting government assistance. People on Welfare or out of work can't afford to buy new cars. Proves to me Obama isn't really a socialist at all. ;-)   I'd love to see your reaction if they extended the program to people who can't afford to keep a car on the road. I've suggested credits for public transportation.
FYI (in case you haven't seen the figures) Looks as if this didn't just boost up business for the auto industry but will save us lots and lots of gas. BTW, I don't see Volvo on this list anywhere! ;-)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ysiTp8J5UZ0
and here's what Devy Kidd has to say about it on her blog... I agree with these 2 ppl. http://www.newswithviews.com/Devvy/kidd460.htm
Her title article is "Cash for Clunkers, More Stealing, More Debt. Sorry, I don't know why these didn't make blue links.
Thanx for the post, I'm with you.
Looks like they aren't going to be towing any boats with their new cars.

A large Atlanta metro dealers was interviewed on tv tonight saying they hope the government comes through with the money because they were already out close to $1mil they'd rebated customers. Again more than likely dealers are going to get ripped.
