excerpt:
Immigration and Poverty

Unfortunately, any effort to reduce the number of poor persons in the U.S. will be partially offset by current immigration policies. Each year, immigration (both legal and illegal) adds hundreds of thousands of new persons to the nation's poverty count. Overall, first-generation immigrants and their minor children account for nearly one-fourth of all poor people in the U.S.[37]

excerpt:
Conclusion

The living conditions of persons defined as poor by the government bear little resemblance to notions of "poverty" promoted by politicians and political activists. If poverty is defined as lacking adequate nutritious food for one's family, a reasonably warm and dry apartment to live in, or a car with which to get to work when one is needed, then there are relatively few poor persons remaining in the United States. Real material hardship does occur, but it is limited in scope and severity.

Comments:
Uneducated, dependent, poor people are the only immigrants Obama allows.
Educated people don't vote Democrat.
I knew an uneducated individual back in the 1940s and 50s. Could not read, write, do math and incapable of signing his name.
Did he let it be a handcap? No. He knew how to work and had a job as long as I knew him until his death.
Jap would this person you 're talking about so carefully be "Black" for some reason it has that concerning aspect to it.;)
Man...
Everything is racial with some people.
EVERYTHING.

Everybody has to walk on eggshells trying not to "offend" anybody.

Does an identifying race need to be mentioned when talking about another individual?

Does "Could not read, write, do math and incapable of signing his name" identify a race? I do not think so.

Would it have made you feel better if I said "I knew a white or black uneducated individual"?

Sorry ,Jap didn't mean to rub you the wrong way , during those years there was an overwhelming number of Blacks who had a literacy problem and for good reasons.
