Bath remo [ extra toilets left over]

One toilet was 17 inches tall which was taller than what my son had in his house. So that one ended up there. The other toilet was a 15 inch tall toilet which I had just replaced [ https://blogs.lotterypost.com/jap69/2026/1/fixed_toilet_tank.htm ] all the tank parts on . Just today I set it on the porch and scheduled a pick up by Habitat For Humanity this week.

Bath remo [toilet I installed]

Happy so far with it.

What a relief with a new and level floor with no toilet seal leaks. Had trouble with the old toilet with leaks for years with an unlevel floor under toilet. Replaced seal, shimmed it many times and still eventually leaked. The old toilet in the other bath had no seal leak problem at all.

When the new toilet power flushes it makes that sucking sound that the old style high water volume toilets made. When the bowl refills after the flush there appears to be more water ...

Bath remo update

With the help of my daughter today we installed the hall 1/2 bath toilet. No leaks. Now I need to purchase the vanity with top sometime within the next month.

Glad it is about done. With my handicap it has been a long dragged out project.

An Uncomfortable Change in Perspective

July 20, 2026 | Sundance | 162 Comments

I would strongly suggest interested readers or researchers to go back and look carefully at the very public comments from Senate Intelligence Community Vice-Chairman Mark Warner, as they relate to the seizure of Fulton County, GA, election records. What you might notice forms the background of an uncomfortable change in perspective.

In nearly all of Warner’s remarks, his main argument ...

Bath remo update

Have not done anything on completion since last post. The only thing done is the purchase of the new toilet about 2 weeks ago which is sitting in the spare bedroom in the box yet. Will install when the moon and stars are lined up correctly.

Made a final decision on the vanity. Purchasing this one https://www.homedepot.com/p/24-in-W-x-16-in-D-x32-in-H-2-Doors-Bathroom-Vanity-in-White-with-White-Ceramic-Sink-COM-US10YWP-61E-410/322328426#see-more-details.

Bath remo [bath cabinet debate]

Thinking of just leaving it like it is. When I cut the bottom half off I cut it on an angle with the angle going down to the back, The front portion has a face plate of about 8 to 10 inches down from the top. Looking at the cabinet you can not see the plumbing until you kneel down to look. I put the new flooring down where the old cabinet set on the floor. I will just finish the baseboard and shoe molding where the cabinet was. Put on a new coat of paint on the cabinet and wall area that bec...

Bath remo [ time involved]

Started Jan 27, today is June 19. 5 months so far.

Maybe another month and I may be done.

Git-er-done eventually.

Got a couple bedrooms that needs their rug replaced with quick lock flooring. Will think about doing that for next project. Only cost involved there is the flooring. Can probably do a room for about $300.00.

Bath remo update [debating on cabinet]

Hall bath is finished up to the point of toilet and vanity to be installed.

Debating on buying a cabinet with cultured marble top with cabinet made with MDF board because of price, This is not a high budget project.

I would prefer a cabinet made with wood. They are in the cost range of $400.00 and up. That price range is out of my budget range.

So I am considering building my own wood cabinet. The only tool I really need to buy is a 35 MM forstner bit kit for the hidden hinges which co...

Bath remo update

Working on hall bath yet. Already removed toilet, removed bottom portion of vanity leaving top portion there to have use of wash bowl, scraped the adhesive off floor, poured self leveler, opened up wall and assembled and installed cabinet, filled back in drywall around cabinet edges and applied joint compound and sanded.

What is left to do. Install flooring, install flooring sills on two door openings, elevate toilet flange, put baseboard and shoe molding back on sealing the perimeter of flo...

Hall toilet was always a leaker

The hall toilet has been a leaker since I moved in here. I have taken out the toilet and replaced the wax seal multiple times. Then after awhile it starts leaking again.

When I removed the toilet this last time a week or so ago to do the remo I discovered the toilet bolts were not connected to the flange. Why is that I asked "I"? So I moved on doing other work in the bath.

Yesterday I was down working on cleaning the surface of the flange to prepare it for putting on a flange ext...

Bath remo update

The only thing I did since last post is caulk under the door jambs.

I figure about another month to finish hall bath. Some days I work, some days I don't.

By the time I am done I will have about $2,000.00 in just material for the bath remo. Just thought of another idea today, Install a built in cabinet about 14 inches wide x 60 inches tall in the hall bath. Buried in the wall is an old duct work shaft large enough for the cabinet. Found a 14 inch wide x 60 inch tall cabinet today for abo...

Toilet plugging possible reason

Toilet paper and #2 flushed at the same time could be too much for the drain to take.

Do your #2 flush then wipe and flush the toilet paper separately.
