this has always been debatable wether lower taxes increase tax revenue. Now consider if they keep current tax rates as they are. They are projected to go up in Janurary so every week wage earners will be paying more in taxes leaving them less money. That is money out of circulation by everyone who earns money. That goes to the treasury to be spent on what they choose. If you let the population keep the money they will be spending it on everything that you can use money for. When the population spends money it is generaly on consumer goods, Investments, or banked localy to be lent localy generaly. When money changes hands to another person as wages it is taxed again. If loaned by banks localy it is spent for whatever. Money generaly changes hands 48 times a year and generaly taxed about 48 times a year. This would increase tax revenue in my opinion.

If the tax increases go into effect in Jan lets see if tax revenue increases.

By the way. Since I have quit smoking the gov't has about $2,000.00 in less tobacco tax from me. Green laugh

Check out the links on the left. Good reading in there on employment. Seems like something has changed since these articles were written regarding maintaing employment levels. I know we import a lot of good now but something has happened in employment opportunities. Especialy the range of wages. Many have increased and many have not incresed all that much.

You should read this article. You think of a jobs bill and we think of job creation. Which it may do in a very small way. But the gov't is going to purchase stock in small banks. You know what that means.

Find other articles on the net and you will find pork in the bill.

I am in shock

Can you believe this? They all jumping on B P like they was in on the Lockerbe bombers release.

Then the white house has the gall to say they wanted all the facts in his release. Like they did not know a d*** thing about it.

And the Politicians that set up investigative hearings thought they were snubbed by British politicians when you know who already knew about the details of the release. Could it be the white house told the politicians to snub the investigation.

What in Haedis is

Tribe hummus?

I was sitting at the bird cage having my daily visit with my kokatiel before he went to bed the other night. While visiting I was reading the newspaper on the floor of the cage. It had the weekly grocery store page on the floor so I was reading that to see what appealed to me. I came across an item that said tribe hummus. Now I said to "I" what the hell is that. I never heard of it before. With the word hummus I thought it was something they dug up in the peat bogs or somewhere and prepared food out of it. I was thinking it had to be something like ground bog moss. I said to "I"( "I" is not the name of the bird. "I" is my space alien friend.)Big Grin anyhow I said to "I" that stuff must taste like day old road kill.

Well I sat down at the computer to catch up on the news and lottery results but decided to do a search and find out what the hell that stuff is. Sure enough it popped up and told me what it is. A middle eastern bean dish and how it is prepared. When has that dish become popular to sell in the market?

I like bean dishes but never had that one.

"Words matter - listen carefully to our current administration

"Since the initially strong language on religious freedom used in President Obama's Cairo speech, presidential references to religious freedom have become rare, often replaced, at most, with references to freedom of worship. A purposeful change in language could mean a much narrower view of the right to religious freedom. Does campaign funds buy elections

I was just thinking reading todays news about campaign funds each candidate has gotten. If they are going to have campaign reform it should not matter how much each candidate has raised. But. The candidate who raises a lot of cash swamps t v and print media with a lot of ads which influences a lot of people.

My thought is each candidate should have equal time on t v and print ads.

Money buys votes

They are playing a political news game here

Something does not smell right in D C. In the past week there have been quite a few stories on the dems losing it. President Obama suddenly having stories written about sudden drops in the polls for this and that. The house and possibly the senate races that are going to be lost in the fall. The house and the white house kickin the ball back and forth on losing. Plus many other articles.

Been dominating the news lately. I wonder if this is all planned strategy on their part? Mid term elections generaly have a slow voter turnout. Could this be part of the plan to rouse the democratic and liberal voters for turnout?

I see talk if the republicans win the house it will be a blame game on them on policy failures.

Just seen an article where the white house and staff members are going to be out stumpin for their candidates. That may help them lose. LOL

Something aint right. Take another week or so to see how the news changes on the subject. I think they have something planned here.

Need to get and read that book on "Rules For Radicals". The strategy could be in there.

What is going on

From reading the news as to what is happening in the white house recently I am getting indicators. What I see is former Pres Clinton hanging out in the white house. Looks to me like he may be giving Pres Obama some tuteledge.

I see today that a former Clinton person is taking a position in the white house.

State voter laws could be over ridden by the feds. Lame duck shove it to ya stuff

The news article was talking about a lame duck session and I seen this about state voter registration laws. Looks like a takeover of state rights to me. If you think defunding a program will stall it think again about that with legislation they want to cram thru before Janurary.

"Other lame-duck possibilities? Senate ratification of the New Start nuclear treaty, a federally mandated universal voter registration system to override state laws, and a budget resolution to lock in increased agency spending"

Presidental appointments during recess

I looked up my thoughts in regard to recess appointments here.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Recess_appointment

I was thinking today on what constitutes a recess in the senate. My thinking is that during a session of congress they have vacation recesses which are intrasession recesses (during a recess within a session). Then I was thinking They have a recess from the current session until the next session starts which is an  intersession recess (between sessions or Congresses).

Then my thoughts went to why was this in the constitution. I was thinking that the senate did not have the work load during those early years and took longer intersession recess. I found that to be correct on my thinking.
" intersession recesses during the early days of the country lasted between six and nine months,"

Then my thoughts went to with the senate having a full schedule pretty much all 12 months of the year why is it necessary for any president to make recess appointments. I do not think recesses last much longer than 30 days now.

My conclusion is the supreme court should make a decision on this as recess appointments are being abused by presidents. Recesses are not as long now as to when the constitution was written.

For the senate to block a president from making recess appointments they hold pro forma sessions. Of course the dems are in the white house and Reid (D) heads the senate so you are not going to see pro forma sessions.

Now if the republicans take control of the senate for the 2011 session they could hold pro forma sessions to block recess appointments.

Find your local Tea Party

There just might be more Tea Party groups than whats reported on. Quite possibly a large network that keeps in touch with each other.

Citizens concerned for the future of this nation. The last I knew Gov't was for the people and by the people.

http://www.teapartypatriots.org/Default.aspx
_________________________________________________________________________________

I think the opposition gets their panties in a bunch because of the loosely knit organization of the Tea Party.
Liberal attack policy is to identify and attack leaders of a group and the main political party involved.
Look at what they do to the Republican party. Attack its leaders and their policy.
