"Berry: Obama said "big difference" between '10 and '94 is "me"
Source Politico

"Rep. Marion Berry's parting shot, published in the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette [no link, subscription only] offers a warning to moderate Democrats and border state moderates — warning of a midterm bloodbath comparable to the 54-seat D-to-R swing in 1994.

But the jaw-dropper is Berry's claim that President Obama personally dismissed any comparison between Democrats now and under Bill Clinton 16 years ago — by saying his personal popularity would bail everybody out.

The retiring Berry, who doesn't say when the remarks were made, now scoffs at Obama's 50-or-below approval rating:

Writes ADG reporter Jane Fullerton:

Berry recounted meetings with White House officials, reminiscent of some during the Clinton days, where he and others urged them not to force Blue Dogs “off into that swamp” of supporting bills that would be unpopular with voters back home.

“I’ve been doing that with this White House, and they just don’t seem to give it any credibility at all,” Berry said. “They just kept telling us how good it was going to be. The president himself, when that was brought up in one group, said, ‘Well, the big difference here and in ’94 was you’ve got me.’ We’re going to see how much difference that makes now.” [snip]
“I began to preach last January that we had already seen this movie and we didn’t want to see it again because we know how it comes out,” said Arkansas’ 1st District congressman, who worked in the Clinton administration before being elected to the House in 1996... "I just began to have flashbacks to 1993 and ’94. No one that was here in ’94, or at the day after the election felt like. It certainly wasn’t a good feeling.”

Arrogance is the hallmark of this president and the whole administration. How many times can I say unbelievable? It's getting to the point now where you wonder if anything else he says or does would even shock or surprise you.
What an unmitigated disaster this guy is for the country.
I totally agree rdgrnr. He is a disaster waiting to happen.
It's ignorance to say "Because I wasn't there in 94" . The white dot on his forehead is begining to fade . Oh I shouldn't say that he's the commander-in-chief..!    MY ARSE.
He couldn't run a squad in Vietnam, let alone run this country. I want to puke every time this guy salutes....!
Thanks Rdgrnr! I found those statements to be arrogance on steroids. I don't want to believe what I'm hearing .. in his world popularity trumps competence.
Thanks Maddog! Puppet in chief is more like it. Saw on Drudge that he was addressing school kids and had to have his teleprompter. As a great orator if you can't talk from the heart to a group of kids that's pretty sad.
I saw a headline recently that read Obama is the most reactionary prez since Nixion. I think they were refering to his recent statements regarding the Mass. vote. Speaking of telepromters, if you saw Scott Brown's acceptance speech from the heart, compare that to Barky! LOL I can't watch him on TV, I avoid it.
Thanks TigerAngel! Don't watch him either ... maybe that's why we aren't 'Mesmerized' by him and his teleprompter.
Arrogance. I don't believe anything he says anymore. I want my party back.
@konane, good point. He uses neural linguistic programming (a form of hypnosis) when he makes televised speeches. The word usage, cadence, repetition and hand gestures all have a purpose and a sequence. All professional hypnotists use a script. They prepare it carefully and when used on the patient it is spoken verbatim from the script. That's why he relies so heavily on the teleprompter.

"...you will go into the voting booth and have an epiphany...you will have to vote for me..."
Thanks Em! I didn't believe anything he said during the campaign. His message is memememememmememememmemememmememe.

However think about it, we've been set up and primed for hero worship with numerous athletes, entertainers all painted super stars. So here comes the ultimate one descending on a beam of light illusion created by the same media that created other larger than life personas.

Here's a good article which makes some really salient points.

"Understanding Obama: The Making of a Fuehrer

Thanks Rick! I've been hypnotized many times by a certified hypnotherapist with impeccable credentials, giving instructions every time that .... I hypnotize myself .... and that I can come back out of it .... at any time I choose. This is how legitimate ethical hypnotherapists work.

I don't watch nor listen to his speeches because I'm not going down the rabbit hole they're trying to herd everyone else down.

BTW I agree completely with what you've said. Without the teleprompter he's an empty shirt.

Quoted from the article in my reply to Emily:

"I hate to sound alarmist, but one must be a fool if one is not alarmed. Many politicians are narcissists. They pose no threat to others. They are simply self serving and selfish. Obama evinces symptoms of pathological narcissism, which is different from the run-of-the-mill narcissism of a Richard Nixon or a Bill Clinton, for example. To him reality and fantasy are intertwined. This is a mental health issue, not just a character flaw. Pathological narcissists are dangerous because they look normal and even intelligent. It is this disguise that makes them trecherous."
You're not kidding, Rick. I've known all along it's been nothing but brainwashing. Hypnosis in of itself is not bad, unless it's with an evil intent in mind (like controlling the masses). There are STILL people out there, that think he's the Messiah.
Sick.
The schools were even nudging the kids to support Obama during the election, and to come home and tell their parents how THEY should vote for him. My daughter said she knew better! LMAO!
Right, konane. There's nothing run-of-the-mill about Obama. I do think he's a very dangerous person, and so is his administration, that is so smitten with him. In my opinion, it's kinda like pulling somebody out of the psych-ward, taking off the straight-jacket, dressing him up in a suit, and saying, "Ok, you're the President". LOL!
