"Freedom - Emancipation from Matter

Interesting concept, hope you enjoy!

"Freedom - Emancipation from Matter

By Peter Russell    January 30th, 2009
Source Dream Manifesto

"Both human development and the evolution of life share another significant trend - a journey towards greater freedom from physical constraints.

Some early evolutionary examples of increasing degrees of freedom are the processes by which living systems obtained energy. Evolutionary biologists believe that early living cells used simple fermentation. These bacteria broke sugar molecules down into smaller molecules such as carbon dioxide and water, taking for their own use the energy which bound these molecules together.

This process was limited by the availability of these sugars and certain acids, and after a while (a billion years or so) supplies began to run low. Some bacteria escaped from this constraint by developing a new way of obtaining food, photosynthesis. Using the energy of sunlight, they converted carbon dioxide, water, and minerals into energy-rich organic compounds. Since these simpler molecules were much more abundant than the sugars needed for fermentation, the new cells could survive in a greater variety of territories. A new degree of freedom had been established.

But this process had its own drawbacks. It produced oxygen as a waste product. To us oxygen might seem a most beneficial gas, yet it is a very reactive chemical. Combining readily with many other substances, it can destroy many of the complex molecules on which life depends. To the cells of the time it was poisonous pollution.

After several hundred million years, so much oxygen had accumulated in the atmosphere that it threatened life on Earth. Nature's response was to exploit oxygen's destructive qualities and capture the energy released as oxygen reduced larger molecules to smaller components.

This new process of obtaining energy - called respiration - was far more efficient than either fermentation or photosynthesis, and greatly expanded the range of resources at life's disposal. With respiration, organisms were not limited to sugars and minerals for food, they could extract energy from the more complex molecules that fermentation and photosynthesis created. Life could now feed off the products of other living systems. A major new branch of evolution had emerged - the animal kingdom.

The animals that first colonized the land were amphibians. But they could never roam far from water. Even toads, who spend most of their life on land, have to return to water in order to reproduce, since tadpoles - their larval stage - must live in water. Reptiles overcame this hurdle by developing tough shells for their eggs, encapsulating a watery environment for the growing embryo. Their eggs could be laid on dry land, miles from any water. Another degree of freedom.

Another step towards greater freedom was warm blood. Since heat speeds up chemical reactions, the rate at which an organism can convert food into energy is a function of its temperature. Cold-blooded animals like snakes and lizards rely largely on the Sun for warmth, absorbing its heat directly into their bodies. When there is no sun to bask in, these creatures become quite sluggish.

Warm-blooded animals - namely, birds and mammals - have overcome this handicap, by developing an internal heating system that keeps the whole body at the optimum temperature for its metabolism. Being less dependent on the temperature of their surroundings, has given them a new degree of freedom. They can be active in a wide variety of conditions and can inhabit regions too cold for reptiles.

The Freeing of Humanity
With human beings came many new degrees of freedom. Speech freed us from the limitation of learning only from our individual experience. Our ability to deliberate upon the future has given us a certain freedom of will; we can choose those actions that offer us better chances of survival or that enhance our comfort and well-being.

Walking on two legs rather than four, meant that our hands were free to do many new and useful things. We did not have to chase after our prey, we could set traps for it. Being able to create clothes and shelter freed us to live in cooler climates. The wheel further enhanced our freedom of movement, giving us the means to transport heavy loads with much less effort. Agriculture brought us other liberties, enabling us to raise our own animals, grow our own crops, and store the harvest for later use.

As we settled in communities, individuals took on differing responsibilities. Some caught the food, others prepared it. Some made the clothes, some collected water, others built new shelters. This increasing specialization brought greater efficiency, and with it yet greater emancipation from the constraints of the physical world. We were free to take on other activities such as pottery, smelting, forging, tanning, spinning, weaving, carving, healing, teaching, writing, painting, sculpture, and music-making.

Yet more liberation came with the Industrial Revolution. No longer did we have to spend most of our life tilling the land; we were free to improve the quality of life in many ways. The steam engine freed us from a dependence on sheer muscle power. Machinery of all kinds increased the efficiency of production, resulting in a plethora of material goods that allowed us to do more tasks and achieve grander goals.

Sturdier ships, railways, and later automobiles and planes, gave us far greater freedom of movement, and allowed industry to use resources from around the globe. Medical discoveries relieved us of from the scourge of many diseases, freed us from much physical pain, and helped us recover from physical injury. In these and other ways, the Industrial Revolution, liberated us from many of the constraints of our bodies and from many of the limits imposed by our environment.

Today information technology is leading to an emancipation from work itself. Automated factories produce cars, electric motors, television sets, radios, cameras, computers, and digital watches with almost no input of human energy. In banks, offices, warehouses, and supermarkets information technology is increasingly taking over functions previously performed by people. Accountants, lawyers, pilots, architects, draftsmen, doctors, engineers, secretaries, and others are being released from many of their routine tasks.

The consequence is plain to see. The more developed nations are no longer heading towards full employment but towards ever-increasing unemployment. Unemployment is usually seen as undesirable, both personally and socially, and something to be fought against at all costs. Yet, somewhat ironically, it is the very thing we have been striving for.

From the dawn of civilization people have been seeking to work less - not more. To this end we have invented a wealth of labor-saving equipment - plows, windmills, water-wheels, pumps, weaving looms, milking-machines, combine harvesters, lawn-mowers, elevators, washing-machines, food-processors, microwave ovens, power drills, vacuum cleaners, electric pencil sharpeners, automatic car-washes, and motorized golf-carts to name just a few.

The intention behind almost every technological development from the first stone axe to the automated bank-teller has been to reduce the time and energy we spend in physical toil. Yet, now that we are finally seeing the fruits of our labor-saving efforts, we are holding on fiercely to the very thing we have tried for so long to leave behind.

On the one hand we love work for what it brings - security, self-esteem, comforts, human contact, challenge. On the other hand we resent it for what it demands of us - the time we have to spend at it, the energy and freedom it seems to take from us. How many of us, if given the money we now receive from work, would still choose to spend our time in an office, a truck, a store, a print-shop or a coal-mine? The majority want what work gives, not the work itself.

We fear unemployment not because we fear the loss of work itself, but because we fear insecurity, uncertainty, loss of self-esteem, material discomfort and possibly hunger - all things that work has helped us avoid. In addition, since our economies are based on the input of human labor (human time is the principal component of any price, the natural resources being intrinsically free), wide-scale unemployment can spell disaster for a nation's economic well-being.

The question we should be asking is not how to maintain employment, but how to create an economic system that can distribute resources and enhance our well-being, while at the same time fulfilling our age-old wish to be free from unwanted toil.

Freedom for What?
Freedom from toil is not the only freedom we have sought. We have fought to be free from oppression; fought to overthrow dictators and tyrants; fought for the freedom to vote for the government of our choice. Nations have battled to gain independence from other nations, erected statues to proclaim their liberty, and stamped it on their money. We have struggled for freedom from slavery, freedom from prejudice, and freedom from persecution. For the freedom to say what we believe, to live where we wish, and to worship as we choose.

But what is all this freedom for?
Our underlying motivation, as ever, is to move away from pain and suffering towards greater joy, and contentment. This is the underlying freedom for which we have worked and fought. To be free from all that seems to stop us from finding peace and fulfillment.

To an extent we have been successful. We have eliminated or reduced many sources of suffering. We have found ways to satisfy most of our body's needs. We have increased our standard of living. We have been able to fulfill many of our desires. But are we really any happier?

In 1955, a study was conducted to find out how many people in America were happy with what they had in life. At that time 30% of those polled felt they were happy with their lot. The same study was repeated in 1992. Over the intervening 37 years the material standard of living had improved considerably: per capita income and consumption had both doubled, average house size had doubled, the number of cars per family had nearly tripled, the number of TV stations had increased by a factor of twenty or more, plus the picture had gone from black-and-white to color. Yet the number of people who were happy with their lot was exactly the same - 30%.

Two conclusions can be drawn from this. First, material well-being does not equate with inner well-being. Second, the percentage of the population who know how to be happy has not changed at all. We have done almost nothing to educate people in one of the basic wisdoms of life. In this respect we are still far from free.

The Freedom to be Free
A mind that is caught up in the past is not free - no more free than a mind caught up in concerns about what may or may not happen in the future. A person worried about the opinions of others or anxious for security is not really free. We are not free if imagined fears drive our perception and our decisions. Nor is our thinking free if we judge someone on the basis of their race, dress, profession, accent, or beliefs.

We saw earlier that we already possess most of the understanding and technology necessary to avert environmental catastrophe. And we have the money. What we do not have is the will to do what we know is needed. Free will requires a free mind, not a mind caught up in worry and concern.

To be truly free we need to move beyond our cultural conditioning. We need to release ourselves from our attachments; from our concern for past and future times. We need to be free of our illusions. Free from unnecessary fear. The freedom we now need is the inner freedom that allows us to think more intelligently. The freedom to draw more deeply upon our creativity and use it in ways that are in our true best interests. The freedom to follow our vision, and find that which we truly seek.

This is the opportunity that our many physical freedoms are opening us to - self-liberation. The freeing of our minds so that we may be our true, authentic selves.

This new freedom requires a new kind of work - work on ourselves. In this respect we have not reached the end of work at all. There has merely been a shift in the arena of work from outer to inner. A shift to the next phase in human evolution."

"Journey into the Heart and Mind of the Cosmos

"Journey into the Heart and Mind of the Cosmos

By Jude Currivan    November 17th, 2008
Source Dream Manifesto

"Pioneering science and the wisdom teachings of many traditions agree - consciousness expresses itself as energy. All energies are manifested as waves - and it is from the vast and ever changing interaction of these waves of energy that the entire Cosmos, at all levels of experience is continuously created.

When a surfer rides an ocean wave, he or she does so by balancing on a surfboard, which is smoothed and polished to minimize friction and thus enable the surfer to flow freely as the wave rises, crests and falls away.

The surfer doesn't seek to control the wave but to be in harmony with it. Focused  and present, he or she is alert and balanced - flexible and responsive to the nuances of every moment.

We are all surfers, individually and collectively riding a tidal wave of change.

Whilst we can attempt to cling to the past or grasp at the future, we only have the power to make our choices in the 'now' of each present moment. In  the eternal 'now', we have the   power to choose to be in harmony with the Cosmos and to make our choices on the  basis of love - or we can choose to only perceive the sometimes chaotic foam on the surface of the wave and make our choices from the continuing illusion of separation and on the  basis of fear.

We can perceive and choose to consciously align with the underlying harmony and purpose, which continually co-creates the physical world and align ourselves with its transcendent source.

And each and every one of us can contribute by choosing to focus our energies to the positive re-envisaging of the world - or remain mired in the negativity which the illusion of separation engenders.

Intend
Our familiar experience of the hologram is that it is produced by laser light that is thus coherent and focused.

As our awareness expands and we actively value the wisdom of our hearts and the inner voice of our intuition, our consciousness becomes ever more coherent.

And by attuning our intention to the highest purpose, we become empowered to consciously co-create our realities. What we can imagine, we can become.

Reconcile
Einstein once said that 'science without religion is lame, religion without science is blind'

Perennial wisdom perceives unified consciousness as the ultimate source of the manifest Cosmos, the transcendent One from which is birthed the essential dance of yin and yang - the means by which consciousness explores the richness and diversity of its own creation. And in the universal experience of tripartite forms and processes - the mediation, resolution and completion of three within One - that wholeness is reconciled.

But the illusion of such expressed separation has become one that we have mistaken as being the only reality. We  have dis-membered our psyche as we have collectively explored its diversity.

It is time to re-member the wholeness of who we really are and to make our choices from that deeper and ultimate reality.  It is time to make our choices from love rather than fear, to include rather than exclude and to co-operate rather than compete.

Co-create
We are spiritual beings undergoing a physical experience. And each of us is powerful beyond measure.

It is time for us to real-ize this. Empowered  by our highest awareness and held in the presence of the universal heart, we can stand straight and lovingly offer the world our unique gifts.

Together, the resonance of our co-creation is greater than the sum of its parts. And each and every one of us can play our unique role in midwiving Heaven on Earth now.

Heal the whole
The spiritual teacher Sogyal Rimpoche has spoken of how, two and a half millennia ago, the Buddha compared the physical universe to a vast net woven of a countless variety of brilliant jewels, each with a countless number of facets. Each jewel reflects in itself every other jewel in the net and is in fact one with every other jewel. Everything is inextricably interrelated and we come to realize that we are responsible for everything that we do, say or think, responsible in fact for ourselves, everyone and everything else and the entire universe.

We are the jewels of creation and we are the creator.

The final step of any initiation becomes the first step of the next stage of the journey of discovery. It is time for us to take a giant leap."

"Letting Go the Key to Getting What You Really Want

Today's Garfield is priceless!!!!!  ROFL

________

"Letting Go - the Key to Getting What You Really Want

By Guy Finley  January 27th, 2009
Source Dream Manifesto

"Each time we see the need to let go of something - a bad habit that drags us down, an unsatisfactory relationship, a career choice that can't complete us in the way we dreamed it would, or maybe unrealistic expectations of ours about others that eventually spoil our partnerships with them - whatever it may be: what is it that's actually happened in these moments of honest self-examination? See if this simple answer doesn't describe our situation:

Aren't we being "asked" to give up an existing relationship in order to make room in our lives for something higher? Of course we are. Then why is it so hard to act on our intuition? After all, who doesn't want a life that's better, brighter, and truer?

Here's why we hesitate to make this exchange, as so many of us do: the real challenge in such moments is that what we must choose in favor of can't be seen by our physical eyes! Can we see the truth of this, no pun intended?

Inherent in any true spiritual surrender is this one inescapable fact: we can't hope to realize the actual nature of that new and "greater" relationship we seek until we have released the old one. St. Paul, author of numerous New Testament accounts, best describes what is, ultimately, an indescribable moment: "Our faith must be in things unseen, and not in things seen; for who hopes for things (already) seen?"

When it comes to letting go and growing beyond who and what we have been up until that time, the deal is non-negotiable: first comes our gradual awakening to what no longer works for us, followed by the inner work to release the same.  Then, and only then, dawns the discovery and realization of what is - in all cases - a new and higher order of our Self; our life is transformed. Confidence, contentment, and compassion become our constant companions.

To the point: letting go follows our unwanted realization that "holding on" is of no further use! In one way or another we start seeing how all of our old, tried and true solutions have proven themselves to be "false friends." A few examples will shed light on this last important idea.

For instance, it's become clear that blaming others for our painful reactions has proven worse than useless; that answer has turned some of our friends into enemies! Instead of delighting us as they always did in the past, our newest schemes and dreams only taunt us with their emptiness; we're tired of running nowhere fast.

Whether wanted or not, we stand at the threshold of that unfamiliar and innermost territory called the "dark night of the soul" by St. John of the Cross; for we now know that of ourselves we can do no more for ourselves.
And so we wait there in our uncertainty, caught, as it were, between two possibilities, neither of which is wanted: in one hand there is the "rock" of not wanting to go through what we know must be done; in the other is "the hard place" of seeing that no other options are available - our one great fear being that if we do let go, our fate is sealed. We will fall into that dark yawning abyss before us called, "not knowing what will become of us" - a forbidding place from which we believe there may be no escape!

But, this is a false assumption based upon an equally false perception. It's a lie produced by the false self to keep us from answering the call to leave it behind. Here is the truth of the matter, which you will know from yourself each time you dare to let go: You do not fall.

Instead, you rise!
How is that possible?

Ask yourself, what happens to a kite when its string is cut? Up it goes! It climbs into the open skies above it because that's its nature; it was made to rise. So are we: we are made to be free. Anything less is just that . . . not enough!

After nearly 25 years of writing and teaching, if I have learned one thing it is this: We each have right here, right now, everything we need to succeed with finding the lasting wholeness and happiness for which our heart of hearts seeks. Our problem is that we're sure we have to do something to be free. Strangely enough, the only thing between us, and a life without limits, is this mistaken idea.

The spiritual work of letting go and of growing into our native holiness is unlike any other kind of effort one will ever have to make. It starts with embracing - and then daring to act upon - the understanding that nothing can be added to our True Self. Just think for a moment what such knowledge could mean to us if we were to take the trouble to make it our own.

For instance, rather than spend our time struggling, in vain, to make others into what we want them to be, we would be able to see the inherent flaw in this kind of thinking. So that then - rather than trying to change others to suit our needs - our choice would be to simply drop this false idea that someone else is responsible for our fulfillment.

Freedom from the burden of false responsibilities - real reconciliation with lovers, friends, and family - the grace to forgive old foes completely - a growing sense of a loving and compassionate Intelligence unbound by passing time: these gifts and more come to those who learn to let go.

The missing half of our lives is letting go. Make this spiritual discovery and be fulfilled; be fulfilled without effort, and be free. Breathing in would be worthless without its opposite of exhaling; think of letting go as learning to take part in the breath of Life itself, something that is as natural to who you truly are as it is for the sun to shine."

"How Is It Possible To Win At Everything?

_________

"How Is It Possible To Win At Everything?

By Eldon Taylor  September 16th, 2008
Source Dream Manifesto

"Change is perhaps the most sought-after goal in life. If we but had more money, more education, and less compulsion, could lose weight or stop smoking, be more popular and have more friends, and so forth, life would be perfect. Change is also perhaps the most frightening experience we can undertake. Change means giving up something, some belief, some habit, some pattern, some something. Change from the inside out can also mean great risk.

Genuine change often means letting go of acquaintances who hold different beliefs. It isn't so much that we let go of them as they abandon us, for we no longer provide a sanctuary safe for "negative story" sharing. There are also plenty of naysayers. Like the smart chickens in the chicken house, they will tell you all this is nonsense. Some may even attack you with such words as hoax and fraud. Like most attacks, they are designed to produce feeling of insecurity, doubt, even stupidity.

One book out there suggests that self-help efforts generally rob people of their money and their esteem. The book is entitled Sham: How the Self-Help Movement Made America Helpless, by < snip >. I heard him tell of a sales event he attended with salesmen all from the same company. He criticized the motivational speaker on the grounds that in the beginning of the presentation the speaker told everyone in the audience that each could be the number one salesperson in the coming year.

Such was a logical absurdity, he asserted, for how could they all be number one in the same company? Stop and think about it for a minute. Do you really think either the salespeople or the motivator took this statement to mean anything other than each of the salespeople in the room had the ability to be number one? I don't. Indeed, I have been guilty of far worse, at least on the surface, by stating that we can win at everything!

Now you might say, "How is it possible to win at everything?" The answer is simple, but it is also involved in the definitions attached to winning and losing. Let me get this point straight, right from the beginning. We only lose when we let ourselves down! We can only win, in the real sense of winning, when we do our very best! Our very best requires commitment, courage, dedication, singleness of purpose or focus, and more. These attributes are fundamentally known as character.

A friend of mine, Coach Phil Porter, says, "The basis of winning is character." Phil is an ninth dan black belt in martial arts, a retired Air Force major, and the coach of many Olympic players. He adds, "Character is simply a combination of all the virtues which have been the basis of American life."

Character is a hallmark of great champions. Character is developed. Character requires an earnest effort to be, to live, to think, and to act according to a code of conduct that dictates honesty and integrity in all things. No higher act of honesty exists than that which is necessary in order to stand back and say, "I know I did my very best!" Self-honesty can be one of the most difficult characteristics, and yet the most rewarding, a person can ever develop. The words of Pythagoras ring as true today as ever: "Above all else, know thyself!"

Words and truisms can be interesting. When I was very young, the words "all men are created equal" disturbed me. What on earth did this really mean? It was obvious to any child that all men were not indeed created equal. Adults who truly wished to settle my concern over this foolish matter gave me many answers. Their typical answer went something like "in the eyes of God, all men are equal."

Although this answer did provide some comfort, it nevertheless failed to register at every level of my being as "true." Then one day the answer was put to me another way. It went something like this: Imagine a rocket scientist who after much work launches an interstellar voyager. Imagine the pride he feels in the accomplishment. Now imagine a so-called menial laborer. On his hands and knees for endless hours, he scrubs and polishes a floor.

He has worked so hard and with so much pride that he has scrubbed his knuckles raw. Now he stands back and beholds his labors. The floor absolutely glistens-every square inch of it. It never looked this good even when it was new. Now, I was further instructed, which man senses the most pride, the rocket scientist or the floor scrubber?

Even at a young age, I recognized that questions such as this one were obvious. If both men did their absolute very best and knew it, put their whole heart, mind, and soul into their work, their pride of accomplishment would be equal. To the degree that they compromised their very best, to that precise degree their sense of accomplishment would be diminished.

Excepted from the New York Times best selling book, < snip > by Eldon Taylor.  .........."

"Obesity Bug You Can Catch

Believe this theory was discussed several years ago but not backed by hard research. Hope for all of us who carry a few extra pounds they find something definitive and can reverse what the virus has caused.

______

"OBESITY BUG YOU CAN CATCH

Obesity is a major problem in Britain

Monday January 26,2009
By Jo Willey Health Correspondent

Source Daily Express | UK News

"OBESITY can be "caught" as easily as a common cold from other people's coughs, sneezes and dirty hands, scientists will claim today.

Researchers believe that an airborne "adenovirus" germ could be causing the fat plague that is blighting Britain and other countries.

As many as one in three obese people may have become overweight after falling victim to the highly infectious cold-like virus, known as AD-36.

It is known to cause coughs, sore throats, diarrhoea and conjunctivitis but has now also been found to make fat cells multiply, leading to weight gain.

The shocking discovery will add to evidence that Britain's obesity epidemic is not simply down to an unhealthy diet or lack of exercise.

Research suggests a third of UK adults will be grossly overweight within three years, with Britain even predicted to overtake the US as the most obese nation in the world.

The problem already causes 9,000 premature deaths in the UK a year and costs the NHS £1billion.

Many experts already believe that genes can make some people more susceptible to weight gain and now it seems that infections could also hold the key.

Studies have shown that chickens and mice infected with AD-36 put on weight quicker than uninfected animals, even when they were not given extra food. It has also been found to cause huge weight gain in monkeys.

Now studies on humans show that 33 per cent of obese adults had contracted AD-36 at some point in their lives, compared with only 11 per cent of lean men and women.

Professor Nikhil Dhurandhar, of Pennington Biomedical Research Centre in Louisiana, US, who led the research, said AD-36 continued to add weight gain long after those infected had seemingly recovered.

His studies indicated that the virus lingers for up to three months, during which time it multiplies fat and is contagious to others.

Dr Dhurandhar, who will make the extraordinary claims on BBC2's Horizon tonight, said: "We now know that this virus goes to the lungs and spreads to various organs such as the liver, kidney, brain and fat tissue.

"When it goes to fat tissue it replicates, making more copies of itself and in the process increases the number of new fat cells, which may explain why people get fat when they are infected with this virus." The findings were welcomed by some medical experts, although others sounded a note of caution.

Dr Shahrad Taheri, clinical director for obesity at the Birmingham Heartlands Hospital, said: "Most people believe obesity is caused by environmental factors.

"But there is a lot of information about how things like the furring up of arteries could be linked to infections. It is not beyond reason to think about various different factors, including infections, adding into the mix about what causes obesity."

Tony Barnett, professor of medicine at the University of Birmingham, said: "These associations may give some clues but they detract from the basic message that we all need to take more exercise and eat a bit less.

"This kind of research needs to go on but we have to be cautious."

Dr Colin Waine, chairman of the National Obesity Forum, said: "We must acknowledge it is a contribution to the research but it doesn't alter the management of obesity."

The documentary also reveals research which claims to explain why those on diets feel permanently hungry, even when overweight.

A US study found that people have a "natural body weight" and respond to losing a few pounds in the same way as if they were starving.

The findings suggest that overweight people who diet will always suffer hunger pangs, even if they become lean and healthy."

"James Lovelock thinks humanity has only one remaining option to halt climate change and save ourselves (Image: Eamonn McCabe / Camera Press)

With his 90th birthday in July, a trip into space scheduled for later in the year and a new book out next month, 2009 promises to be an exciting time for James Lovelock. But the originator of the Gaia theory, which describes Earth as a self-regulating planet, has a stark view of the future of humanity. He tells Gaia Vince we have one last chance to save ourselves - and it has nothing to do with nuclear power

Your work on atmospheric chlorofluorocarbons led eventually to a global CFC ban that saved us from ozone-layer depletion. Do we have time to do a similar thing with carbon emissions to save ourselves from climate change?

Not a hope in hell. Most of the "green" stuff is verging on a gigantic scam. Carbon trading, with its huge government subsidies, is just what finance and industry wanted. It's not going to do a damn thing about climate change, but it'll make a lot of money for a lot of people and postpone the moment of reckoning. I am not against renewable energy, but to spoil all the decent countryside in the UK with wind farms is driving me mad. It's absolutely unnecessary, and it takes 2500 square kilometres to produce a gigawatt - that's an awful lot of countryside.

What about work to sequester carbon dioxide?

That is a waste of time. It's a crazy idea - and dangerous. It would take so long and use so much energy that it will not be done.

Do you still advocate nuclear power as a solution to climate change?

It is a way for the UK to solve its energy problems, but it is not a global cure for climate change. It is too late for emissions reduction measures.

So are we doomed?

There is one way we could save ourselves and that is through the massive burial of charcoal. It would mean farmers turning all their agricultural waste - which contains carbon that the plants have spent the summer sequestering - into non-biodegradable charcoal, and burying it in the soil. Then you can start shifting really hefty quantities of carbon out of the system and pull the CO2 down quite fast.

Would it make enough of a difference?

Yes. The biosphere pumps out 550 gigatonnes of carbon yearly; we put in only 30 gigatonnes. Ninety-nine per cent of the carbon that is fixed by plants is released back into the atmosphere within a year or so by consumers like bacteria, nematodes and worms. What we can do is cheat those consumers by getting farmers to burn their crop waste at very low oxygen levels to turn it into charcoal, which the farmer then ploughs into the field. A little CO2 is released but the bulk of it gets converted to carbon. You get a few per cent of biofuel as a by-product of the combustion process, which the farmer can sell. This scheme would need no subsidy: the farmer would make a profit. This is the one thing we can do that will make a difference, but I bet they won't do it.

Do you think we will survive?

I'm an optimistic pessimist. I think it's wrong to assume we'll survive 2 °C of warming: there are already too many people on Earth. At 4 °C we could not survive with even one-tenth of our current population. The reason is we would not find enough food, unless we synthesised it. Because of this, the cull during this century is going to be huge, up to 90 per cent. The number of people remaining at the end of the century will probably be a billion or less. It has happened before: between the ice ages there were bottlenecks when there were only 2000 people left. It's happening again.

I don't think humans react fast enough or are clever enough to handle what's coming up. Kyoto was 11 years ago. Virtually nothing's been done except endless talk and meetings.
I don't think we can react fast enough or are clever enough to handle what's coming up

It's a depressing outlook.

Not necessarily. I don't think 9 billion is better than 1 billion. I see humans as rather like the first photosynthesisers, which when they first appeared on the planet caused enormous damage by releasing oxygen - a nasty, poisonous gas. It took a long time, but it turned out in the end to be of enormous benefit. I look on humans in much the same light. For the first time in its 3.5 billion years of existence, the planet has an intelligent, communicating species that can consider the whole system and even do things about it. They are not yet bright enough, they have still to evolve quite a way, but they could become a very positive contributor to planetary welfare.

How much biodiversity will be left after this climatic apocalypse?

We have the example of the Palaeocene-Eocene Thermal Maximum event 55 million years ago. About the same amount of CO2 was put into the atmosphere as we are putting in and temperatures rocketed by about 5 °C over about 20,000 years. The world became largely desert. The polar regions were tropical and most life on the planet had the time to move north and survive. When the planet cooled they moved back again. So there doesn't have to be a massive extinction. It's already moving: if you live in the countryside as I do you can see the changes, even in the UK.

If you were younger, would you be fearful?

No, I have been through this kind of emotional thing before. It reminds me of when I was 19 and the second world war broke out. We were very frightened but almost everyone was so much happier. We're much better equipped to deal with that kind of thing than long periods of peace. It's not all bad when things get rough. I'll be 90 in July, I'm a lot closer to death than you, but I'm not worried. I'm looking forward to being 100.

Are you looking forward to your trip into space this year?

Very much. I've got my camera ready!

Do you have to do any special training?

I have to go in the centrifuge to see if I can stand the g-forces. I don't anticipate a problem because I spent a lot of my scientific life on ships out on rough oceans and I have never been even slightly seasick so I don't think I'm likely to be space sick. They gave me an expensive thorium-201 heart test and then put me on a bicycle. My heart was performing like an average 20 year old, they said.

I bet your wife is nervous.

No, she's cheering me on. And it's not because I'm heavily insured, because I'm not.

"Earth on the Brink of an Ice Age - Pravda.Ru

"The earth is now on the brink of entering another Ice Age, according to a large and compelling body of evidence from within the field of climate science. Many sources of data which provide our knowledge base of long-term climate change indicate that the warm, twelve thousand year-long Holocene period will rather soon be coming to an end, and then the earth will return to Ice Age conditions for the next 100,000 years.

Ice cores, ocean sediment cores, the geologic record, and studies of ancient plant and animal populations all demonstrate a regular cyclic pattern of Ice Age glacial maximums which each last about 100,000 years, separated by intervening warm interglacials, each lasting about 12,000 years.

Most of the long-term climate data collected from various sources also shows a strong correlation with the three astronomical cycles which are together known as the Milankovich cycles. The three Milankovich cycles include the tilt of the earth, which varies over a 41,000 year period; the shape of the earth's orbit, which changes over a period of 100,000 years; and the Precession of the Equinoxes, also known as the earth's 'wobble', which gradually rotates the direction of the earth's axis over a period of 26,000 years. According to the Milankovich theory of Ice Age causation, these three astronomical cycles, each of which effects the amount of solar radiation which reaches the earth, act together to produce the cycle of cold Ice Age maximums and warm interglacials.

Elements of the astronomical theory of Ice Age causation were first presented by the French mathematician Joseph Adhemar in 1842, it was developed further by the English prodigy Joseph Croll in 1875, and the theory was established in its present form by the Czech mathematician Milutin Milankovich in the 1920s and 30s. In 1976 the prestigious journal "Science" published a landmark paper by John Imbrie, James Hays, and Nicholas Shackleton entitled "Variations in the Earth's orbit: Pacemaker of the Ice Ages," which described the correlation which the trio of scientist/authors had found between the climate data obtained from ocean sediment cores and the patterns of the astronomical Milankovich cycles. Since the late 1970s, the Milankovich theory has remained the predominant theory to account for Ice Age causation among climate scientists, and hence the Milankovich theory is always described in textbooks of climatology and in encyclopaedia articles about the Ice Ages."

"How Finding Your Passion Changes Everything

Hope you enjoy!!!

______

"How Finding Your Passion Changes Everything

By Ken Robinson  January 22nd, 2009
Source Dream Manifesto

"A few years ago, I heard a wonderful story, which I'm very fond of telling. An elementary school teacher was giving a drawing class to a group of six-year-old children. At the back of the classroom sat a little girl who normally didn't pay much attention in school. In the drawing class she did.

For more than twenty minutes, the girl sat with her arms curled around her paper, totally absorbed in what she was doing. The teacher found this fascinating. Eventually, she asked the girl what she was drawing. Without looking up, the girl said, "I'm drawing a picture of God." Surprised, the teacher said, "But nobody knows what God looks like."

The girl said, "They will in a minute."

I love this story because it reminds us that young children are wonderfully confident in their own imaginations. Most of us lose this confidence as we grow up. Ask a class of first graders which of them thinks they're creative and they'll all put their hands up. Ask a group of college seniors this same question and most of them won't.

I believe passionately that we are all born with tremendous natural capacities, and that we lose touch with many of them as we spend more time in the world. Ironically, one of the main reasons this happens is education. The result is that too many people never connect with their true talents and therefore don't know what they're really capable of achieving.

In that sense, they don't know who they really are.

I travel a great deal and work with people all around the world. I work with education systems, with corporations, and with not-for-profit organizations. Everywhere, I meet students who are trying to figure out their futures and don't know where to start. I meet concerned parents who are trying to help them - though often steering them away from their true talents on the assumption that their kids have to follow conventional routes to success.

I meet employers who are struggling to understand and make better use of the diverse talents of the people in their companies. Along the way, I've lost track of the numbers of people I've met who have no real sense of what their individual talents and passions are. They don't enjoy what they are doing now but they have no idea what actually would fulfill them.

On the other hand, I also meet people who've been highly successful in all kinds of fields  who are passionate about what they do and couldn't imagine doing anything else. I believe that their stories have something important to teach all of us about the nature of human capacity and fulfillment.

As I've spoken at events around the world, I've found it's real stories like these, at least as much as statistics and the opinions of experts, that persuade people that we all need to think differently about ourselves and about what we're doing with our lives; about how we're educating our children and how we're running our organizations.

This book contains a wide range of stories about the creative journeys of very different people. Many of them were interviewed specifically for this book. These people tell how they first came to recognize their unique talents and how they make a highly successful living from doing what they love. What strikes me is that often their journeys haven't been conventional.

They've been full of twists, turns, and surprises. Often those I interviewed they said that our conversations for the book revealed ideas and experiences they hadn't discussed this way before. The moment of recognition. The evolution of their talents. The encouragement or discouragement of family, friends, and teachers. What made them forge ahead in the face of numerous obstacles.

Their stories are not fairy tales, though. All of these people are leading complicated and challenging lives. Their personal journeys have not been easy and straightforward. They've all had their disasters as well as their triumphs. None of them has "perfect" lives. But all of them regularly experience moments that feel like perfection. Their stories are often fascinating.

But this book isn't really about them. It's about you.

My aim in writing it is to offer a richer vision of human ability and creativity and of the benefits to us all of connecting properly with our individual talents and passions. This book is about issues that are of fundamental importance in our lives and in the lives of our children, our students, and the people we work with.

I use the term the < snip > to describe the place where the things we love to do and the things we are good at come together. I believe it is essential that each of us find his or her < snip >, not simply because it will make us more fulfilled but because, as the world evolves, the very future of our communities and institutions will depend on it.

The world is changing faster than ever in our history. Our best hope for the future is to develop a new paradigm of human capacity to meet a new era of human existence. We need to evolve a new appreciation of the importance of nurturing human talent along with an understanding of how talent expresses itself differently in every individual. We need to create environments-in our schools, in our workplaces, and in our public offices-where every person is inspired to grow creatively. We need to make sure that all people have the chance to do what they should be doing, to discover the Element in themselves and in their own way.

This book is a hymn to the breathtaking diversity of human talent and passion and to our extraordinary potential for growth and development. It's also about understanding the conditions under which human talents will flourish or fade. It's about how we can all engage more fully in the present, and how we can prepare in the only possible for a completely unknowable future.

To make the best of ourselves and of each other, we urgently need to embrace a richer conception of human capacity."

"The Doom Factory

One metaphysical source which has thusfar proven accurate.  Interesting reading from someone with 30 years of inside-media experience.  For anyone who believes they aren't fully engaged in creating beliefs for us, this may provide a different picture.

_________

"The Doom Factory

By Lee Carroll
Source "In The Spirit Magazine

"Get out your lawn chairs... they are at it again!"

"It's almost four years away, yet the media is gearing up to scare you to death (if anyone has noticed). The 2012 issue is the subject, and it's just too hot of an issue to leave alone, or wait until it's closer. After all, there's Viagra, soap and cars to sell, and in this economy the retailers are screaming to make it happen.

In my seminars a few months ago, I told the attendees to brace themselves for the onslaught of movies and documentaries in theatres and on TV about 2012, all of which will be sensationally fear based. Well, it's already here.

The History Channel has launched "Armageddon Week," a week packed with brand new, polished documentaries in HD on the prophets of the end times and what they have said about 2012, the year that purportedly holds the oncoming destruction of the planet.

I spent almost 30 years doing retail advertising for radio and TV. I have produced in excess of 4,000 radio music spots, numerous documentary soundtracks, and a few movies - all of this before Kryon, of course. I absolutely know how these guys think, and I wanted to share some things with you that may not be obvious.

There is a big alignment coming. It's called the Galactic alignment and it's the end of an approximately 26,000-year astronomic cycle.* Although it is astronomical in fact, the energy around it is based on astrology. Astrology is the oldest science on the planet. Nostradamus was an astrologer of sorts, and also an alchemist (apothecary), or "occult" pharmacist, of his time. (It got him kicked out of medical school.)

If you read about the real Nostradamus, you will find that he really wasn't very highly respected as a prophet or an astrologer, at least not while he lived. He did astrology fairly haphazardly and often got the charts for clients totally wrong. He married a rich widow, had a number of children, and was free to write a number of books of his "quatrains." His relationship with the church was good (he was a devout Catholic), and he actually got permission from the bishop to publish some of this work. But he was always fearful of religious fanatics, so he cloaked his writings by using "Virgilianized" syntax (syntax of the Roman poet Publius Vergilius Maro), word games and a mixture of other languages such as Greek, Italian, Latin and Provençal (a unique language of Southern France) in order to hide the real meanings.** This made his quatrains very obscure and unclear, promoting the ability for almost anyone to interpret them to their own understanding, which has happened over and over.

Today, however, he stands at the centerpiece of who's who in doom. Lucky for us, that reference book is very small, but he's the guy for our age, as well as the champion for "everything that's bad that's going to happen."

Here's my stance on all of this: This Galactic alignment is coming. It has always been coming, and the ancients spoke of it. Far before the time of Nostradamus, many cultures wrote about it. The Egyptians knew it, and even aligned their pyramids to the stars. Among others who we know about who were aware of it, were the Hopi, Aztecs, Toltecs, Druids, and Incas. The Mayans developed their calendar without Nostradamus' help, and ended it on Dec 21, 2012 (right before 2013). So the Galactic alignment is real, and almost all the cultures who wrote about it predicted great shift. By the way, "great shift" now is being interpreted as "the end."

I stood in the very spot where the Mayans worked. I was in Xochicalco, Mexico, in 2007, about 38 kms (24 miles) southwest of Cuernavaca. It is there where I met Jorge Baez, a scholar who has actually duplicated much of what the Mayans were seeing in the very observatories they used in those archeological digs. On one of the walls of a small pyramid, the Mayans wrote glyphs of what they had discovered, and what the great shift and energy cycles were all about. Nowhere did they indicate the earth was coming to an end. Instead, they spoke of one of the highest vibrations to return, and be amplified, that the earth had ever seen. It was to align with the Galactic alignment in December 2012 (their calculations). I was there and had the glyphs translated! That's what they say.

Jorge Baez has written one of the first of many 2012 books, called The Vital Energy of Movement: The Secret of 2012. (It's only in Spanish at the moment.) But his findings were the same as the Mayans - that we have a shift coming, and it's going to represent a slow Human consciousness change. The other shifts they predicted (according to Jorge's book) showed the up and down cycles they identified and now have been correlated with the dark ages and the Renaissances of our past. This is the subject of his book. He also can read their glyphs (he did, for me) and their predictions are about Gaia vibration, not catastrophe. My opinion is that this shift has already begun.

The Mayan calendar ended there. Many make a big deal about that. What if this was not intentional? You should know that the Mayans gave us some minor prophesies about dates that were beyond 2012 (with dates written in the style of their calendar). Clearly they were not through with the calendar or they would not have done this. The reasons for their demise are still unknown today, but it happened fast. Perhaps they were not through at all? Perhaps whatever removed their civilization so quickly also stopped their calendar? But because it stops at the Galactic alignment, it's easy to say that it's the end of time. However, we say that it's the end of an old time and it's the beginning of a new consciousness for the planet... Mayan information.

By the way, something else you don't hear: This 2012 alignment is really off by about 5.5 degrees. It has been more closely computed in recent years using modern computers and telescopes, and (ready?) it has already happened! This is due to an error that the Mayans had in their calculations. They said that the event occurs every 25,627 years. It actually occurs every 25,800 years - not bad for no telescopes, huh? So the 2012 date is actually not a full alignment at all. It's close, but it's off a bit. The precise alignment of the solstice point (the precise center-point of the body of the sun as viewed from earth) with the Galactic equator was calculated to occur in 1998 (Jean Meeus, Mathematical Astronomy Morsels, 1997). Did anything significant happen then? I would say so... like the fall of the Soviet Union and the demise of the Belin Wall, all within a year.

Will we have shift? Yes! We're already experiencing it. Doom? Not from the Mayan's writings. In all fairness to the others who built Xochicalco, the Toltecs and the Aztecs also had their observations, and also knew of the stars. They contributed to what the Mayans finally got credit for - a very uplifting, esoteric message about 2012.

Now, you didn't get that on the History or Discovery Channel, did you? Good news doesn't sell stuff. Too bad.

I want to alert you to some of the methods of the writers of these documentaries. Notice that they are scored with scary music and the majority of the images you see are of storms, famine, Great Depression stuff, and major catastrophe. That's just the beginning; they are very, very selective on what they report and do not report.

On the Nostradamus special on the History Channel, my good friends Gregg Braden and John Petersen (of the Arlington Institute) were interviewed. According to John, some of the best things he said were never seen - just cut out. Both men are credible scientists/historians and both told about a coming shift and gave good science. Neither of them said it would be the end of the earth. But having them on the screen was credible for the rest of the documentary, and that's often how this game is played.

Back in 1999, these same television enterprises trotted out Nostradamus and gave dire predictions about the coming millennium Armageddon. Back then, they had the Bible to back them up and also quoted from all parts of Revelations about the end times. One of the quatrains of Nostradamus (3.2) was quoted as "Because of the heat like that of the sun on the sea, the fish around Negrepont will be half-cooked." This, of course, was interpreted as nuclear attack.

Now, for all those who have been asleep for eight years, that didn't happen. Instead, we got something that was never in any quatrain - the fall of the Soviet empire, the bringing down of the Berlin Wall, and the beginning of capitalism in Russia. There was no Armageddon. Last night, I couldn't believe that they were using the same quatrain about the heat of the sun on the sea. But now, it's for global warming! Did they think nobody would notice?

Here are some issues you won't find in the documentaries, things that changed everything we know about "the way things were supposed to be."

(1) Where is the Nostradamus quatrain for the fall of the Soviet Union?

(2) Where is the Nostradamus quatrain for the Berlin Wall coming down?

(3) Where is the Nostradamus quatrain for 9/11? Important, don't you think?

(4) Where is the Nostradamus quatrain for the election of a man of color to the White House? Very significant for our time, don't you think?

Each of these things is "against all odds" and yet was never mentioned in Nostradamus or the Bible. Each one of these things has, and will, affect us all for a very long time.

Futurists talk about the "wild card." This is something inserted into prophesy that either wasn't supposed to be there or that developed under the radar. For 20 years, Kryon has told us that this wild card was the Harmonic Convergence of 1987. This was when we started a shift of thinking, and a shift of consciousness. It has moved all prophesy off the mark of where it was supposed to go.

One of the items that the documentaries speak of is the famine that will occur in 2012, even cannibalism on a grand scale. They speak about a scorched earth, supposedly caused by global warming. There were recorded remarks from meteorologists that every summer is warmer than the last and has been for a number of years. Nobody interviewed them about cold (or they did, and cut it)! Are you aware that every winter is also colder than the former one? Are you aware of the figures they are now giving for parts of the Pacific ocean that are colder than ever? This is not subtle, for it's actually bringing back a great portion of the microbial life that is needed for recovery of some of our fish.

Kryon has spoken over and over about how we are in the beginnings of a mini ice age. This also happened in the 1400s, but you don't hear many speaking about it. Record keeping wasn't that great back then, and we had no ability to coordinate global information as we do today. Yet we went through it then and survived. Kryon tells us that we have sped up the vibration of the planet, and that the results are the weather changes. It's part of a water cycle that we have seen before, not something sudden or that foretells the end. Back in 1989, he clearly told us about this weather shift. But for Armageddon Week, it's a surprise, and it's all part of global warming and the end of the earth (according to the documentaries you are seeing). Want to see what some Russian scientists are saying? ***

Here is something else nobody ever thinks about: What if the quatrains of Nostradamus were all accurate, and what if we hadn't somehow voided all the prophesies of the year 2000 (which we did)? That means we would have had a nuclear exchange. That's what Nostradamus indicated and also what was said in Revelations (according to Hal Lindsey). Let's think about it. Where would we be now in 2008? The answer is that we would be in bad shape! Only seven or eight years would have passed and we probably still would be dying of radiation and scratching for food. The very thought of it is appalling. But what if?

If that were the case, then some of the rest of the predictions start to make more sense. They describe an old earth that went through a nuclear war. With the confluence of shifting weather and other Earth potentials, there would indeed be famine on a grand scale... certainly war, and something that might even wipe out all Human life. But we are NOT in that condition. What changed it? We did, and it's obvious that we didn't go through with the prophesy of 2000. This is the wild card.

Do you understand what I'm saying? The fear and drama mongers are cobbling together the best doom circus they can. They use old energy prophesies that they have reinterpreted after the last doom didn't happen, but now they have the Galactic alignment to make it look even more believable. They even are using good authors who are historians and scientists to back up their claims, which are not really what many of the authors believe at all.

By the way, the Galactic alignment is a relative event. It's something "as observed from Earth." It's relative to how we see things. I just want to set it straight for those who don't follow astronomy and think that the center of the galaxy is suddenly going to move or shift. It's not. It's only an observation from where we stand.

Now, I'm not finished. Let's briefly discuss something else Kryon has told us, and something that now has some proof. Doom and gloom, death and destruction have very profound energy. It often creates planetary change through sorrow and/or compassion. This we know. But Kryon has indicated something we don't really understand much about. He says that there is often a residual of potential that can stay, even after we move off the course we were on. This residual is so potent that all the seers can pick it up and actually "see" it as current. It's so potent that it can be measured by the very machines that Princeton University set up regarding the Global Consciousness Project, which sense Human consciousness shifting right before an event.

In October of last year, many of these "bells and whistles" went off. We had predictions from many sources (even Kryon) telling us to hold on and not to fear October. Futurists groups, who engage psychics for research, told us that something was going to happen. Then the "bots" went off - the ones from Princeton. Wow, we were really expecting something big. Too many sources from too many unrelated areas were telling us this. Perhaps you also heard that there was going to be a "galactic landing"? We were supposed to be finally visited by ETs who would identify themselves, and on and on it went. Something was in the air!

Well, October 13/14 came and went and nothing happened, nothing at all. Or did it? Nothing seemed to happen on the Harmonic Convergence of 1987 either, but now we know it did. Could it be that we sensed what might have happened, but it didn't? Did we go through a shift anyway, but without any earth catastrophe? Kryon says both.

You can't deny that something was in the air, yet whatever it was didn't happen. It was worldwide and those of us in the metaphysical business heard about it from many, many sources - some very reliable. Yet nothing happened.

I say to you that there is far more here than meets the eye or that can be explained in a TV documentary that is filled with exploitation and purpose to intentionally create drama. Don't buy into all this stuff. Honor the facts and laugh at the obvious manipulation in full HD.

The big news is that we are slowly changing the very fabric of what you and I thought was unchangeable. We are pruning our economy away from greed to make it stronger. We have elected a man that could never be elected by those of our parents' time. These are the true signs of the time. We are the wild card.

Armageddon Week? Come on. What's next? Meteor Strike Week? Then perhaps we can have "Famine Week" followed by "Cannibalism Is Next!" week.

Yawn! Get out your lawn chairs and enjoy the Doom Factory. There will be far more of this coming. Wait until you see the first-run movies! There will be lots of special effects about Earth's demise - probably lots of water and fire, I suppose. Bruce Willis or Tom Cruise just have to be involved in there somewhere! (Smile)

It's just like the Millennium, folks. When 2012 comes and goes, we can move on to the next realization: We changed it all and got through some shifts. We are still here, changing the consciousness of the planet in ways that will eventually make almost every doom prediction from every prophet seem like something that will always belong on a tabloid cover, and not anything really believable again.

Lee Carroll

"Spirit would never bring you to this place of high vibration, Lightworker, just to plough you under like so much dirt. You are actively involved in creating an energy on this planet that will eventually create healing and peace that you have never seen before. Two generations from now, you will not recognize this place, for there will be talk of "putting things together" instead of tearing them apart. The old energy leaders will be gone and a new generation of conceptual thinkers will be in place." - Kryon

---------------------------------------

* The Galactic Alignment is the alignment of the December solstice sun with the Galactic equator. This alignment occurs as a result of the precession of the equinoxes.

Precession is caused by the earth wobbling very slowly on its axis and shifts the position of the equinoxes and solstices one degree every 71.5 years. Because the sun is one-half of a degree wide, it will take the December solstice sun 36 years to precess through the Galactic equator.

This 26,000-year precessional cycle shifts the apparent position of the sun, on the December solstice, backward through the signs of the zodiac. This leads to the observation (as viewed from the earth) that the December solstice sun is moving "around" the Galactic Center, coming into alignment with it once every 26,000 years. This is the galactic alignment. It is a name given to a relative perception of the stars while observing from the earth.

"Why It's So Easy to Fail at Our Resolutions?

"Why It's So Easy to Fail at Our Resolutions?

By Eldon Taylor  January 20th, 2009

"The New Year is upon us and if you are like so many, you made some resolutions and already have relented or let go of some of your ambitions. Every year millions of people do just that. There is such hope in the approach of a new beginning and yet it is so easy to just let that hope slip into forgotten dreams of the past.

I have spoken with many people do not remember their New Year resolutions from years past. If you think about it for a moment, do you remember your resolutions from five years ago, from two years ago, indeed, from last year? Why is it we forget so quickly? First we resign ourselves to relenting and then we forget what we relented-is that instructional? I think so.

We are all familiar with "wishful thinking." Yet, most make their resolutions in much the same way. We can imagine an internal dialog deciding on the New Year's resolutions: In this next year I will stop getting angry! I will use my spare time in wiser ways. I will save money. I will get fit. And so forth. The problem should be obvious. Let's think of it framed in the same context, an internal dialog but one that promises success with the resolutions: In this next year I will stop getting angry. How will you do this? Good question-what triggers my anger? I know when I get upset and it comes from frustration. So, how do we control the frustration and get to what's behind it?

When you dialog a resolution in this manner, it becomes easy to see why most resolutions fail. That is, there is always an underlying cause and at least one, if not a set of emotional triggers that are incorporated in and around any and all of our so-called behaviors. What is more, some emotional "need," at least a perceived need (belief), is satisfied as a result of our existing behavior. As such, we fail to make the change we desire until and unless we redefine the context in which our beliefs rest so we can effectively alter our "needs."

I spend a good deal of time in < snip > on how we get these beliefs that fail to serve our highest best. I also discuss how the context behind our beliefs frames and specifically delimits our choices. Recently I had a conversation with a talk radio host and it occurred to me that one of Ellen Langer's ideas might help everyone understand just how powerful this context stuff is.

I use this metaphor for many things but in particular for smokers and I do know something about that addiction having smoked three packs of cigarettes a day for over thirty years. So here is the metaphor, think about the saliva in your mouth. Move it around and taste it. It may surprise some, but it actually tastes good and we are glad we have it.

Now think of spitting some saliva into a clear glass and then imagine picking the glass up and drinking the spit. Something changed-didn't it. When smokers realize that the context they hold cigarettes in must fundamentally shift from the saliva in their mouth to spit in the glass, they get it. All of us have a context to our beliefs and sometimes the context both betrays common sense and ourselves.

One of the powers people experience with our InnerTalk programs is a new internal dialog that leads to a shift in context and follows with the desired change. In my book, < snip >, you will find many other ways to alter old self-sabotaging beliefs and replace them with powerful new convictions that truly do empower you to realize your highest best."

"  Make more decisions in every day. Because a decision is a summoning of life. That's why a little chaos is good for you, because often you don't make a decision until you get yourself in a jam. And then, in the middle of the jam, you make a decision, but that decision summons Life Force. Have you ever been a place where you couldn't quite make up your mind and you just felt sort of limp? "Oh, I don't know. I don't know. I don't know." And then you decided, and you felt alive again. We want you to know that you'll never get it done. So don't approach this from, "I gotta get on this" because you're not ever going to get it done, anyway. And the other thing we want you to know is, you cannot get it wrong. So, make a decision. Let it flow."

"Live, Love, and Laugh - The Most Profound Self-Help Advice

"Our task must be to free ourselves from this prison [the illusion of space and time] by widening our circle of compassion to embrace all living creatures and the whole of nature in its beauty." - Albert Einstein

Our Sense of Time
The human brain is the most amazing data-processing system yet discovered. In comparison, the most powerful computers yet built are simpler than the simplest single-celled biological organism.
Digital computers encode signal inputs and outputs as bits (strings of 0s and 1s) and process information by electronic on/off switches that manipulate the bits.

In addition, computers have a built-in clock that synchronizes their data-processing operations. While this approach is a working basis of many of our technologies, it is utterly inadequate for carrying out the sort of complex mental tasks that our brains process and that we take for granted. For example, our visual recognition of a face in a crowd is a task we can accomplish without a moment's hesitation, but computers find it incredibly difficult.

The reason is that our brains comprise a dynamic matrix of some one hundred billion neurons-nerve cells that, like computers, operate electrically. But instead of just acting digitally on or off, they behave in a so-called analog way and are able to respond to inputs and produce output voltages across a range of signal strengths.

Also, we have seen that, unlike computers, there is no inner clock in our brains. Our perceptions of events are accumulated from an ongoing variety of sense-based inputs from our environment. These arrive in a time frame of a few milliseconds; and it is only when they cumulatively pass an energy threshold that a given neuron sends an output signal, whose firing correlates with our becoming aware of the event. Again unlike computers, which are constructed with fixed hardware and programmed software, our neurons are highly plastic.

Neural channels-the connections between neurons-are constantly changing and adapting through interactions with what is perceived as reality. And although for many years neuroscientists believed that when neurons die through aging, disease, or trauma they're not replaced, as we have noted, this has been shown not to be the case. Through a process called neurogenesis, new neurons are created throughout our lifetime and especially as a result of intensely felt experiences.

The energetic imprints of our experiences encode not only their physical attributes but how we think and feel about them. In fact, it's our thoughts and emotions about the events of our lives that are their most vivid and long-lasting aspects. Even when we no longer consciously remember a specific event, its related emotions may continue to reside in our subconscious memory. Contributing to our patterns of habitual response, the hopes, fears, anger, regret, and myriad other feelings are aspects of the shadowy terrain from which our "sunlit" waking awareness emerges.

Our brains are continually processing a vast amount of environmental impressions that we initially respond to unconsciously. An enormous majority of these remain unconscious, for only when they are energetically strong enough do they cross the threshold of our conscious awareness. The apparent continuity of our conscious impressions is illusory, because without an inner "clock" our perceptions lag behind the multitude of stimuli, which we are continually bathed in and interact with.

The neural processes that respond to such impressions take around a quarter of a second to accumulate and form into a conscious experience-this is due to different attributes of stimuli, such as their color, shape, and texture. Although they occur simultaneously, they are registered by our brains at different times.

In our everyday awareness, this overlapping of impressions becomes a coherent whole, and we experience our waking consciousness as a unified flow. This is how our sense of the flow of time is formed. The emotional and mental contents that enrich our experiences manipulate our sense of time, ratcheting it up to "fast-forward" or reducing it to slow motion. Traumatic events appear to slow down or even stop time, whereas when we are enjoying ourselves, "time flies."

Mind over Matter
Such different perceptions of the same reality are an everyday occurrence. But we are rarely aware of just how much our believing or disbelieving affects what we actually "see." Generally, our ego-selves are culturally conditioned. As a consequence, we not only act in accordance with our prevailing worldview and beliefs, but our identification is so powerful that we are literally unable to see what we cannot imagine.

When we're able to imagine something, we create an image of it that we can relate to. Without such relationship, there is no resonance, and so we have no energetic and informational means of attuning ourselves to a new phenomenon. When we can imagine a phenomenon and believe in its reality, we can actually experience that reality.

For millennia, the meditative techniques of spiritual traditions have taught their initiates how to embody greater well-being by attuning their minds and emotions more harmoniously. Additionally, they have shown how the attuned power of our mind can overcome physical pain. Tibetan monks, for example, have long been tutored in visualization exercises that enable them to slow or increase their heart rates and alter their body temperatures at will.

Such exercises, over many years, allow them to focus their mind so coherently that there are well-documented cases of overnight snowbound vigils held by monks who melted the snow around them through their body heat alone. Although we may not have their fortitude or training, our beliefs, too, are not only capable of altering our biology but do so all the time.

What is the process that enables our thoughts and feelings to have such power over our bodies? In the last chapter, we introduced biologist Bruce Lipton's model of cellular membranes as organic information processors that are dynamically linked to the environment. The receptor molecules that are embedded within the membranes resonate and interrelate with specific environmental stimuli, both physical and informational. Their responses are the triggers that organize the behavior and the internal condition of the cell.

But, as Lipton points out, the stimuli that trigger cell activity may be distorted; thus, they rather represent our beliefs about reality. And so environmental signals such as our feelings and thoughts-even, and often especially, when they are subconscious-affect the behavior and thus the health of the cell whether or not they reflect a "real" view of the world.

As biochemist David Hamilton shows in his book <snip >, the attunement of our conscious and subliminal thoughts and emotions-both of which express our beliefs about ourselves and the wider world-powerfully affect the health of our bodies and our overall well-being at the level of every cell of our body.

The Placebo Effect
One significant way our beliefs and expectations affect our biology is in the so-called placebo effect.

This was first discovered during pharmaceutical drug trials in the 1950s in which the effect of a new drug was tested by comparing its performance against a dummy medication, or placebo, administered to patients suffering from a given condition.

Over many studies, it has been found that on average about a third of patients who are given the placebo feel better. In fact, a number of studies have shown that individuals suffering from mild depression respond to placebos as well as they do to antidepressant drugs-and without any adverse side effects.

For a long time, doctors tended to assume that the mechanism of placebo response is psychological. Researchers at the University of Michigan tested this assumption by scanning the brain activity of healthy volunteers whose jaws had been injected with salt water, causing painful pressure. The volunteers were then told they would receive a new pain-relieving drug when in fact they were given a placebo. The scans showed that their brains responded to their belief in the placebo by releasing endorphins-natural painkilling chemicals that block the pain signals between nerve cells-and as these coursed through their bodies, the volunteers felt better.

The scale of the placebo effect may in fact be increasing. In 1999, in an article for Science magazine, Martin Enserink reported that tests for drugs to alleviate obsessive-compulsive disorder disclosed that for over 15 years, the proportion of placebo responses had grown from virtually nil to where some trials failed-in all likelihood, due to the high level of placebo response. The year before, in a meta-analysis of 19 antidepressant drug trials, psychologists Irving Kirsch and Guy Sapirstein showed that the proposed drugs relied on the placebo effect for three-quarters of their effectiveness.

The power and potential for intentional healing of the placebo effect is finally being recognized - although unsurprisingly, not by drug companies. What it appears to depend on is a person wanting to be healed and his or her expectancy that the treatment will be effective.

One of the pioneering researchers of the intimate connections between our minds, emotions, and bodies is psychopharmacologist Candace Pert, author of Molecules of Emotion. In the early 1970s, biologists were trying to understand how mind- and mood-altering opiates such as morphine worked. Theorizing that such drugs interact with the brain's cellular receptors, Pert, with her colleague Sol Snyder, discovered the existence of such a receptor.

The discovery opened the door to the realization that if our bodies have such receptors, then we must also have a natural feel-good opiate within us. Subsequently identified by neuroscientists John Hughes and Hans Kosterlitz in 1975, this turned out to be a molecule called endorphin that was found to be released in large quantities through physical exercise, among other things-and also by eating chocolate!

Endorphins are one type of so-called neuropeptides that are produced by emotions and in turn produce them through our continuous flow of experience. Involved in an enormous range of bodily functions from the management of pain to the release of hormones, neuropeptides and the cellular receptors they interact with form a psychosomatic and dynamic matrix operating through our thoughts, emotions, and bodies.

Heart and Mind
For most of us for most of the time, our thoughts and emotions relate to our ego-based, personal, sense of self. The innate separation from others that such a sense of separate self engenders is the basis for the word selfish. When we are unable to go beyond its inherent limitations, we feel lonely and cut off, as indeed we are when seeing the world solely from its narrow perspective.

When our egos are too dominant or, conversely, too fragile, such apparent separation is often accompanied by difficulty in empathizing with the wider world. It is this deep sense of separation, loss, and loneliness that many psychologists feel is at the root of an exponential increase in depression in the last few years. And it's the negative emotions that are generated by the separations and fears of our ego-mind that lie at the root of so many of the schisms that have divided people from each other. Conversely, the positive feelings of pleasure, joy, and love arise not in the mind but are generated by our heart. These feelings have the capacity to connect us at ever-expanding levels of awareness with the whole-world.

We have seen how our entire body is a coherent energy-information system. This also comes to the forefront in the findings that intelligence and attention are not mediated through the brain. For, as research shows, the heart is able to perceive and has inherent intelligence.

In the 1970s, physiologists John and Beatrice Lacey found that not only are signals sent from our brain to our heart, which the heart considers but does not necessarily follow, but that our heart also sends signals to our brain, which the latter does obey. Subsequently, it has been discovered that the heart has its own nervous system comprising at least 40,000 nerve cells (neurons)-as many as are found in various subcortical centers of the brain. Leading on from this, a two-way biocommunication system of thoughts and feelings is now recognized to operate between the heart and the brain.

Since 1991, stress researcher Doc Childre and his colleagues at the HeartMath Institute in California have undertaken research to demonstrate how negative emotions such as insecurity, anger, and fear throw the body's nervous system out of balance and engender heart rhythms that are jagged and disordered. Conversely, they have found that positive emotions of love, compassion, and gratitude create coherent energy signals that increase order, reduce stress, and bring balance throughout the nervous system. They are reflected in harmonious rhythms of the heart.

Our hearts generate the strongest electromagnetic field produced by our body-a field that, as the HeartMath team has demonstrated, is measurable a number of feet away by magnetic and electrostatic detectors.

The Power of Positive Emotions
One of the challenges facing researchers studying human behavior outside the laboratory in "real life" situations is to reduce the number of variables that are needed to be taken into consideration to come up with evidence in a particular case. A project to see whether positive emotions are conducive to living longer was able to do this when it investigated the longevity of a group of 180 nuns living the same ordered life away from the distractions and stresses of the world outside the convent walls.

Published in the Journal of Personality and Social Psychiatry in 2001, the analysis of the positive words used throughout their diaries revealed that the nuns with the most positive outlook, and who felt more positive emotionally, were not only happier than their sisters but lived significantly longer lives. It does make a difference both to our state of well-being and how long we will live to enjoy our lives.

French golfer Jean Van de Velde was leading the 1999 field at the Carnoustie, Scotland, Open Championship when he hit a critical shot into the water during the play-off and went from leader to runner-up. When asked in 2007 when the Open returned to Carnoustie how he had felt, Van de Velde replied, "I see the world as a glass half full, preferably of wine. And all the better when I've already drunk the first half." Well said!

Emotional IQ
In 1996, psychologist Daniel Goleman reviewed the significance of the heart in the way that we perceive and interact with the world. He noted that the measurement of human IQ, which reflects the quotient of intellectual and cognitive abilities, does not change significantly from childhood onward regardless of our educational opportunities and attainment.

Goleman found that success in life, as reflected in measures of perceived well-being, appears to depend significantly less on IQ and more on our ability to manage and develop our emotional intelligence. He termed the relevant measure EQ: emotional intelligence quotient. EQ relates to self-awareness and our ability to perceive the interrelationship between our thoughts, emotions, and actions and their consequences on others. Unlike our IQ, our EQ can continue to be educated and indeed reeducated throughout our life.

Fear is often seen as a negative emotion. It's healthy, however, when it enables us to be aware of the danger of an imminent threat and allows us to take appropriate action. The problem arises when we make a habit out of being fearful, for when we feel fear, our bodies literally contract. Biologically, we shut down all nonessential processes in order to focus on the archaic evolutionary choice of fight or flight.

When the danger is past, we relax and our bodies return to a balanced state. But when our fears become chronic, that biological rebalancing cannot occur; instead, our continuing level of fearful thoughts and emotions hold us tightly in the grip of fight-or-flight stress. This inevitably limits our behavior, for as Candace Pert has written: "You can't grasp new information in a state of fear . . . punishment and threats actually inhibit the learning process."

Chronic fears often arise in childhood. And by the time we are adults, they have become part of our worldview. When we're able to be aware of such fears-to acknowledge their limitations and, if needed, seek the help of others to overcome them-our lives can be transformed. When we exchange the resentment, frustration, anger, and pain of such fears for compassion, joy, and gratitude, we literally become another person. This transformation is not only possible but can be experienced by everyone who is willing to try.

Sometimes words are inadequate to express what we really mean or feel, but the English language is remarkable in its inclusion of simple words that can themselves hold a deeper meaning. For example, each of us may have a different definition of the word evil. But when we realize that it is the word live spelled backward, we can perhaps see a meaning that hasn't occurred to us before: Evil is the opposite of live. To undertake an evil act is then an act of death. And the word love, itself carrying so much association, is only a single letter different from the word live. As evil is death, so love is life.

The stress and depression that accompanies emotional and mental trauma are reinforced and worsened if we continue to solely focus on our ego-based perceptions of ourselves. The age-old adage to "live, love, and laugh" is probably the simplest and most profound self-help advice there is. No matter how it is wrapped up in sophisticated language, leading-edge science and consciousness studies agree that:

to live physically, mentally, and emotionally active lives, to love-in action through service to others - and to laugh - preferably at yourself - is the most effective, and yet sometimes the most challenging, way to wholeness and health.

It's important for us to appreciate that our emotions and thoughts are energetic patterns that embody awareness, and their reorganization can inhibit or restore health. Our feelings and beliefs about ourselves and the world are crucial. Their limitations are our limitations; their possibilities are our possibilities.

We can no longer separate our thoughts and emotions from our physical well-being."

"What's Luck Got to Do With It?

"How Quantum Physics Can Change Your Life
Ever wonder how lucky or unlucky you are? Or do you think that whatever success or failure you've had had nothing to do with luck at all?

Well, if the quantum world has anything to do with it, not a single moment has passed without Lady Luck looking over your shoulder as you attempt to draw to that inside straight called the game of life. But if the quantum world has anything to say about it, there is a way to beat Lady Luck at her game. All you need to do is look vigilantly and carefully at the world - and take action with that same care and vigilance.

Observing in the Quantum World
Quantum physics is the theory of the behavior of matter and energy, particularly at the level of atoms and subatomic particles. It is nearly impossible to imagine the strange behavior of matter at this level using our common sense. An electron in an atom, for example, performs a trick much like the crew aboard Star Trek's U.S.S. Enterprise when it "beams" from one energy level to another. It simply jumps from one place to another without passing in between.

If we aren't watching this electron jump, then we have no control as to when this will happen. But suppose we do watch? Ah, that changes everything.

The quantum physical worldview is very different from the way in which we have become accustomed to looking at the world. In our ordinary, everyday lives, this difference seems very slight. But if current experiments in quantum physics are relevant to our everyday experiences, you can actually alter the crapshoot of life, so long as you begin seeing things quantum mechanically, and take appropriate action in doing so.

According to quantum physics, there is no reality until that reality is perceived. We call this "the observer effect." Because we don't typically pay attention to ourselves in the perception process, our immediate experience usually will not appear to show how our act of perception changed anything. However, if we construct a careful history of our perceptions, it will often show us that our way of perceiving did indeed change the course of our personal history.

This may make sense to you when looking at something new and deciding what it means. But you may wonder, "I'm not actually changing reality, am I? I'm just changing my interpretation of reality." The answer, as surprising as it may seem, is that you are in fact changing reality by the manner you go about observing it.

How to Make a Watched Pot Never Boil
In the world described successfully by quantum mechanics, observers ultimately and fundamentally affect the universe whenever they observe it or anything in it. This is so because it is not possible to observe everything about reality in any observation. If we refine our ability to see by looking at atomic and subatomic processes, this realization would be very apparent and the different possibilities would be quite magnified and astonishing to our normal way of seeing.

Take the old proverb "a watched pot never boils." Now imagine a tiny quantum-sized pot of water being heated on a really tiny stove. We all know that heated pots of water will in fact come to a boil, given a little time. You would certainly think that a watched quantum pot would also boil. It turns out, however, that if you vigilantly watch the pot, it will never boil. In fact, all vigilantly watched "quantum pots" refuse to boil, even if they are heated forever.

The only requirement for this to happen is that observers must have the intent to see the object - in this case, the quantum pot - in its initial state by persistently observing it the same way in each moment of observation. This intent is determined by the frequency of their observations. They must look repeatedly, in very short time intervals - and if they do, they find the object in the same state as it was the last time they looked.

Suppose a physicist doesn't watch vigilantly. Or suppose that she or he does, but does so with the intent of seeing the situation evolve naturally. Then what? If the physicist looks intermittently, expecting it to boil eventually, the pot will follow its natural unobserved course and will boil. These observations, because they are infrequent, have little effect on the natural result. Or, if they wish, the physicists may vigilantly observe the object along its natural evolution by narrowing their vision to observe only pots that have reached the expected goals at the appropriate times. In other words, a watched pot boils if you intend it to.

A Watched Life
I'm referring here to boiling pots of water, but I'm sure you see how the principle applies to your life, to the pursuits and aims you care about in your life, and to the power of your consistent intent.

I must point out here that "intents" and "intentions" are not the same things. Intent refers to a vigorous action of vigilant observation along a specific path of evolution. It matters little what you hope for or even what you passively expect will happen. You need to actively pursue your vision in order to manifest your intent in the physical world, not passively dream about it or simply hope it will come true.

Thus, intent requires a quantum physical basis, a basis that in our own everyday lives looks like this: hard work with lots of desire.

If this "watched-pot" theory turns out to be as true at the human level of our everyday achievements, then our desires and the actions that accompany them are what actually govern our daily lives.

What does luck have to do with? Nothing!"

"How to Become a Powerhouse Creator

  Hope you enjoy!!!!

________________

"How to Become a Powerhouse Creator

By Nanette Geiger   January 13th, 2009
Source Dream Manifesto

"I mentioned taking responsibility, but did I mention being 100% responsible? Let me explain. Being 100% responsible is not about assigning blame to yourself. It is about putting the power back where it belongs - with you. The power is and always has been with you; you just temporarily misplaced it.

Being 100% responsible means that no matter what is happening and where you are in life, in the situations, circumstance and events - without exception - you are the one who has the power to transform them. Nobody else gets to say how you feel.

Your emotions are your business and yours alone. You choose every time how you interpret any situation and how you feel about it. You are the one, therefore, vibrationally emitting the signals. You will get more along the lines of what you predominantly think and feel about.  That is why it is so important to know how you feel about any situation.

Your unique emotional guidance system will let you know without fail every time where you weigh in on the scale of positive or negative emotion. And remember the Law of Attraction which states that like attracts like - the essence of that which is like itself is drawn - is a universal principle. It is operating whether you know about it, agree with it or not.

This is an attraction-based universe. That means that the expansion of the Universe  is based on what is added to thought, rather than deleted from. Therefore, there is no exclusion. You can't place your attention on the exclusion of something and have it disappear. The attention on it will cause it to expand in your experience.

Putting negative attention on or pushing against anything will cause more of it in your experience. This is an important point to grasp. You can never say "No" to something, trying to get it out of your experience, without attracting more of it. When you say "no", you are focusing your attention on "Not this". Put your attention on what is NOT wanted and you will get more of what is NOT wanted. "Get that out of my life," "Get rid of debt", "fight fat", etc." all puts the emphasis on what is NOT wanted.

As Jesus said: "Resist ye not evil," and for a good reason. You will attract exactly what it is you are resisting, whether it is weight gain, negative emotion, traffic jams, whatever. So for Star Trekkies, it takes on a new meaning when the Borg say: "Resistance is futile." Indeed.

Don't bother going into the head trip of asking the question "why". This is another ego subterfuge to keep you in your head using reason rather than using your emotional guidance system, which is always right on track informing you on whether you are attracting and allowing or keeping "what's missing (it's not here)" in place.

Victim or Victor?
Your heart is always your higher guidance, and you will get the answers you seek. You become the one who realizes that, for reasons perhaps unknown at this time, you created a circumstance which allows you to access more power, understanding, transformation, and healing.

There are no victims in the universe. The choice point comes for you to move through any unwanted situation, creating a whole new future for yourself and those around you. Family, friends, and associates will see with their own eyes how you, with grace and ease, moved into a new plane and wonder what you are up to. If they desire it, they will soon see that they can do the same. You become a model just by example of how to live life with deliberate intent.

From now on, when something unpleasant happens like an argument with a co-worker, a fender-bender, or losing your wallet, look at it as information telling you that you're out of balance with your higher intentions. You'll soon leave the negative self-chatter behind to find your life becoming an intentional creation. Soon you will be opening the door for your lover to walk through.

All of your relationships become a reflection of you. Take extra notice of every time a button gets pushed. That old knee-jerk response is running you. Be responsible that you have the ultimate choice on how you want to feel about what just happened. Break through wanting to give others that power over you and you will break free.

It is not always easy to look at yourself, but I do look and I do take 100% responsibility. I am a free woman. Nobody can make me feel anyway unless I choose it.

Victor Frankl, the renowned Austrian psychiatrist and Holocaust survivor who watched his entire family and friends perish said, "Everything can be taken away from man but one thing - to choose one's attitude in a given set of circumstances, to choose one's own way."

Can you imagine that as a survivor of a concentration camp, this is what he concluded? What a powerful perspective to operate from. Are you willing to take back your power and never give it away again?

I know that I am the only one who can rain on my own parade. I must admit that sometimes I do just that; but I am getting better and better at catching myself and speedily shifting to better feeling thoughts. I have adopted the credo "nothing is more important than that I feel good." Abraham-Hicks taught me that and I use it often. That is when I know I am locked on to my guidance system and Source energy.

So are you waiting for your dream lover to come to you? Instead of waiting, get busy creating.  In short, to create the relationship of your dreams, you need a new model. The old ones have not served you and there is something stuck in your vibration that keeps recreating the same kind of relationship - over and over again. And remember, the common denominator is you!"

"  So the big question is, "Well, do I just dump all those unwanted things and try to start fresh?" And we say, no. You just set the Tone, where you are, by looking for things to appreciate. And by setting your Tone in a very clear deliberate way, anything that doesn't match it gravitates out of your experience, and anything that does match it gravitates into your experience. It is so much simpler than most of you are allowing yourself to believe."
_____

"  Whatever you are giving your attention to is already vibrating. And when you give your attention to it, if you maintain your focus for as little as 17 seconds, you begin to include its vibration, whatever it is, in your vibration. When you see something you want, and you give it your attention, and you say yes to it, you are including whatever its vibration is in your vibration. When you see something you do not want, and you shout no at it, you are including whatever its vibration is in your vibration. In this vibrational world, which is everything, you are far more vibrational beings than you are verbal beings. You are communicating with everyone far more on a vibrational basis, than you are on a verbal basis."

"Your Habits in Life - The Answer to Permanent Change

Great article, hope you enjoy!  Big Grin

________

"Your Habits in Life - The Answer to Permanent Change

By Tania Kotsos   January 12th, 2009
Source Dream Manifesto

"We are all creatures of habit. Everything we repeatedly do, say and think is as a direct result of our entrenched habits. Habits are those actions or reactions which are on auto-pilot, which we do without consciously having to think about them. The success you enjoy in your life, or the lack thereof, is directly related to the nature of your habits while your habits are the product of your beliefs. To enjoy permanent, positive change in your life, you must change your negative beliefs and their associated habits.

Your Life is a Habit
When you examine your daily routine, you will find that most of what you do, say and think on a daily basis is habitual. From the moment you wake up in the morning, your physical and mental routine is already in place and you faithfully follow it with little or no conscious consideration. This applies to all areas of your life. The general state of your relationships reflects your social habits; that of your health and body reflects your eating and exercise habits; that of your bank account reflects your business and money habits and so it goes on. Your habits either serve you or they don't. They either take you toward your desired outcome or away from it.

Your Habits are the Product of Your Beliefs
Every single one of your thoughts is coloured by your beliefs. You perceive and experience life in accordance with your beliefs. Your actions and words reflect your beliefs. When you believe a certain thing about yourself or anything or anyone, you act, speak and think accordingly. Ultimately, you are what you believe you are. Know that your habits are the children of your beliefs. You cannot expect to permanently change a negative habit into a positive one if its underlying belief remains negative. To successfully and permanently transform your bad habits into positive ones, you must also change your beliefs.

The Chicken or the Egg
Once your habits are firmly in place they serve to reaffirm your beliefs such that it may become difficult to distinguish the parent from the child. Most people try to establish new habits without dealing with the underlying negative belief and so, more often than not, find themselves resorting back to their old habits. In so doing, they lose weeks and even months of concerted effort and usually become discouraged and give up on their hopes of changing their negative habits, not realising that the underlying negative belief is the source of their failed attempt.

Why Diets Fail - An Example
The only reason most diets fail is because the dieter has a negative underlying belief that goes unchecked. If the dieter has a belief such as "I am fat", then no health or exercise regime will be met with permanent success if that belief remains intact. Sooner or later he or she will take actions to fulfill that negative belief again - they have to because it is their belief. Ironically, even the decision to go on a diet is a fulfillment of the negative "I am fat" belief although it may appear to be a genuine attempt at losing weight. Remember, slim people need not diet.

Align Your Beliefs with Your Habits
While it cannot be ruled out that persistently changing a habit can ultimately lead to a change in the original underlying belief, trying to create a positive habit in the face of a negative belief takes great amounts of will power and success is not guaranteed. To the contrary, once you change the belief associated with the negative habit, then lasting changes in your habits come far more easily. In other words, creating a new, positive habit requires little or no will power when the underlying belief is working with it rather than against it.

There is No Need to Wait
While it is important to change your underlying negative beliefs, you do not have to wait to change them before creating your new, positive habits. Working on the two together is in fact preferable as it speeds up the process. The emphasis here is to change the negative belief, not to wait before changing the habit. Change the two together and success will quickly be yours. Using the example of the dieter, changing his or her underlying belief from "I am fat" to "I am healthy and slim" while at the same time systematically adopting new healthy eating and exercise habits that reflect the new belief, is the surest if not the only route to permanent success.

You Were Not Born With Your Habits
We were all born with a clean habit-slate. Both your "good" and "bad" habits were created from the beliefs that you adopted through your interactions with your teachers, peers, parents and society in general. Without consciously choosing your beliefs and hence your habits, you effectively leave yourself and your life in the hands of general social conditioning. There is no need to allocate blame for your habits or your beliefs - in fact that would only serve to further entrench them. All you need to do is consciously choose those habits that serve you and eliminate those that fail you by changing your beliefs. It is never too late to change.

Habits Inhabit the Subconscious Mind
Everything that you habitually do, say or think today, started off as a single action or thought which was repeated often enough until it was passed down to your subconscious mind where it became a habit. All habits reside at the subconscious level of your mind where you no longer have to consciously think about them. Therefore, in order to permanently change your habits you must learn to programme and re-programme your beliefs at the subconscious level.

Using Creative Visualization to Change Your Reality
The most effective and practical way to consciously access and programme your subconscious mind for success is through creative visualization. It is the fundamental technique underlying reality creation. To put it simply, you can change any negative belief by repeatedly visualizing yourself feeling and experiencing the new positive belief and imagining yourself effortlessly repeating the actions which you desire to become your habits and are aligned with that belief. You will soon find that your actions and thoughts in your day-to-day waking life begin to reflect your new beliefs until such time that they too become habitual in nature.

Your Will Power is Your Guide
You will know to what degree your underlying negative beliefs have been replaced by gauging how much will power you have to use. Any time you find yourself having to use significant amounts of will power to do something positive that you know serves your desired outcome, then there is probably still a major conflict between your actions and an underlying negative belief. Anything you do or say that is aligned with your beliefs, whether "positive" or "negative", requires very little will power and is effortless.

This is not to say that some or even great amounts of will power will not be necessary at the beginning of your efforts to change your negative beliefs and adopt new, positive habits. However, will power is the domain of the conscious mind whereas your aim is to transform your actions into habits of the subconscious mind, which is the domain that knows nothing of will power and needs nothing of the sort to carry out its actions.

Habits Are Intended to Serve You
The fact that you can repeat a task often enough until you can perform it with no longer having to consciously think about it, is testament to your mind power. This ability frees up your conscious mind to continuously process and learn new information that serves your success until the associated actions become habitual and so the process can be repeated. Having said this, most people are inadvertently at the service of their beliefs and habits because they never consciously chose them in the first place. Your beliefs are yours to choose and your habits are yours to create. Resolve now to make your habits serve you and your success. Ultimately, you have the power to create your ideal life.

No words capture the relationship between your beliefs, your habits and your destiny as precisely as those of Mahatma Gandhi:

"Your beliefs become your thoughts, Your thoughts become your words, Your words become your actions, Your actions become your habits, Your habits become your values, Your values become your destiny."

In a nutshell, we are all habitual creatures. The state of your life is largely a reflection of those actions, words and thoughts which you repeat without any conscious involvement on your part. In other words, your life is a reflection of your habits and your habits are a product of your beliefs. Most people try to change their negative habits with no consideration for the underlying negative belief and so meet with little permanent success. By reprogramming your beliefs at the subconscious level, you give yourself the freedom to create new habits that effortlessly add to your success and to eliminate those that don't."

"How to Get Lucky

Mercury went retrograde yesterday, will remain so until Feb 1. A good time to complete unfinished business, also make sure you're very clear in how you communicate with people because what you say may not be understood clearly by others and vice versa.  For a full description check here:   http://www.astrologycom.com/mercret.html

Now back to some feel good stuff!

_________

"How to Get Lucky
Scientific proof that you make your own breaks.
By Richard Wiseman
From Reader's Digest

"For centuries, people have recognized the power of luck and have done whatever they could to try seizing it. Take knocking on wood, thought to date back to pagan rituals aimed at eliciting help from powerful tree gods. We still do it today, though few, if any, of us worship tree gods. So why do we pass this and other superstitions down from generation to generation? The answer lies in the power of luck.

Live a Charmed Life
To investigate scientifically why some people are consistently lucky and others aren't, I advertised in national periodicals for volunteers of both varieties. Four hundred men and women from all walks of life -- ages 18 to 84 -- responded.

Over a ten-year period, I interviewed these volunteers, asked them to complete diaries, personality questionnaires and IQ tests, and invited them to my laboratory for experiments. Lucky people, I found, get that way via some basic principles -- seizing chance opportunities; creating self-fulfilling prophecies through positive expectations; and adopting a resilient attitude that turns bad luck around.

Open Your Mind

Consider chance opportunities: Lucky people regularly have them; unlucky people don't. To determine why, I gave lucky and unlucky people a newspaper, and asked them to tell me how many photos were inside. On average, unlucky people spent about two minutes on this exercise; lucky people spent seconds. Why? Because on the paper's second page -- in big type -- was the message "Stop counting: There are 43 photographs in this newspaper." Lucky people tended to spot the message. Unlucky ones didn't. I put a second one halfway through the paper: "Stop counting, tell the experimenter you have seen this and win $250." Again, the unlucky people missed it.

The lesson: Unlucky people miss chance opportunities because they're too busy looking for something else. Lucky people see what is there rather than just what they're looking for.

This is only part of the story. Many of my lucky participants tried hard to add variety to their lives. Before making important decisions, one altered his route to work. Another described a way of meeting people. He noticed that at parties he usually talked to the same type of person. To change this, he thought of a color and then spoke only to guests wearing that color -- women in red, say, or men in black.

Does this technique work? Well, imagine living in the center of an apple orchard. Each day you must collect a basket of apples. At first, it won't matter where you look. The entire orchard will have apples. Gradually, it becomes harder to find apples in places you've visited before. If you go to new parts of the orchard each time, the odds of finding apples will increase dramatically. It is exactly the same with luck.

Relish the Upside

Another important principle revolved around the way in which lucky and unlucky people deal with misfortune. Imagine representing your country in the Olympics. You compete, do well, and win a bronze medal. Now imagine a second Olympics. This time you do even better and win a silver medal. How happy do you think you'd feel? Most of us think we'd be happier after winning the silver medal.

But research suggests athletes who win bronze medals are actually happier. This is because silver medalists think that if they'd performed slightly better, they might have won a gold medal. In contrast, bronze medalists focus on how if they'd performed slightly worse, they wouldn't have won anything. Psychologists call this ability to imagine what might have happened, rather than what actually happened, "counter-factual" thinking.

To find out if lucky people use counter-factual thinking to ease the impact of misfortune, I asked my subjects to imagine being in a bank. Suddenly, an armed robber enters and fires a shot that hits them in the arms. Unlucky people tended to say this would be their bad luck to be in the bank during the robbery. Lucky people said it could have been worse: "You could have been shot in the head." This kind of thinking makes people feel better about themselves, keeps expectations high, and increases the likelihood of continuing to live a lucky life.

Learn to Be Lucky

Finally, I created a series of experiments examining whether thought and behavior can enhance good fortune.

First came one-on-one meetings, during which participants completed questionnaires that measured their luck and their satisfaction with six key areas of their lives. I then outlined the main principles of luck, and described techniques designed to help participants react like lucky people. For instance, they were taught how to be more open to opportunities around them, how to break routines, and how to deal with bad luck by imagining things being worse. They were asked to carry out specific exercises for a month and then report back to me.

The results were dramatic: 80 percent were happier and more satisfied with their lives -- and luckier. One unlucky subject said that after adjusting her attitude -- expecting good fortune, not dwelling on the negative -- her bad luck had vanished. One day, she went shopping and found a dress she liked. But she didn't buy it, and when she returned to the store in a week, it was gone. Instead of slinking away disappointed, she looked around and found a better dress -- for less. Events like this made her a much happier person.

Her experience shows how thoughts and behavior affect the good and bad fortune we encounter. It proves that the most elusive of holy grails -- an effective way of taking advantage of the power of luck -- is available to us all. "

"Bernard L. Madoff: International Financial Terrorist

Not an article of inspiration whatsoever, I stumbled on this assessment of Bernard Madoff the ponzi scheme investment broker.  His actions are mind boggling.  What?  What?  What?

"Bernard L. Madoff: International Financial Terrorist

"When is a terrorist a terrorist? We seem to use the term so loosely that we have forgotten in this world maze of conflicts that the word 'terrorism' has a very specific connotation and that the concept of a "War on Terror" is of itself an oxymoron. So what do I mean when I identify someone as a 'terrorist'? Over a thirty year career under Presidents Nixon, Ford, Carter, Reagan, Bush Sr. as the principal hostage negotiator [ over five hundred hostages saved], senior counter-terrorist expert and the creator of the USA policy of 'no-negotiations with terrorists',  I have a very clear set of criteria for declaring someone as a 'terrorist' and quite frankly Bernard L. Madoff the Ponzi Swindler of the 21 st century fits those psychological and economic criteria for judging him in the criminal court system as an "International Financial Terrorist'. As a Harvard-trained board certified psychiatrist and a past board examiner in psychiatry and neurology, I can easily diagnose Madoff as a 'sociopath' who has deep feelings of 'self-hatred as a Jew" and needs to seek revenge against those whom he despises/envies by having created a vitriolic fifty billion dollar ponzi scheme  against myriads of innocent Jewish individuals, charities, universities, country clubs, high schools and charities. However simply putting a psychiatric label on him no matter what it is quite frankly is not sufficient or necessary. For the most part the ordinary individual in the street reflectively calls him 'crazy' which by the way he is not in any legitimate psychiatric sense.  He is neither delusional, psychotic and he admitted outright that 'he was the sole responsible individual" of this Ponzi scheme disingenuously attempting to exonerate his sons and other family members. So the normal mental health exam cannot in any way exonerate him for the responsibility that he bears for his directed destructive consequences. Yes, I did say 'directed'. Like most terrorists groups and particularly terrorist leaders who by the way like myself were practicing physicians [ Bahsir Assad of Syria , an opthamologist; El Zwahiri, Osama's right hand man is an internist; the three heads of Hamas were pediatricians, Che Guevera was a surgeon; Karadzic the Serbian leader of ethnic cleansing was a psychiatrist, etc]   he stole from and destroyed from a 'targeted' group of individuals who had [1] money to invest;[2] belonged to an ethnic group which he knew well both their psychology, their patterns of investment behavior and were for the most part in the world of international finances 'innocent. Secondly, like any effective terrorist, Madoff consciously used an instruments of destruction which like the IED, or  explosives could create fear, terror, eliminate both the financial and emotional underpinning of innocent individual as well as facilitate the destruction of major civilian institutions like charities, universities, high schools, country clubs, all the while sitting on their board and directing the future of these aforementioned 'targets'. In the jargon of terrorism we call the aforementioned entities 'targets of opportunity'. Much like a terrorist group will often target a busload of innocent children going to school and hold them hostage for ransom or eventually kill them, Madoff did the EXACT technique of cultivating his 'targets of opportunity' systematically, deliberately, and even facilitated their demise [whether individual or collective] by encouraging them through constant use of deception, betrayal and very deliberate lies to invest in his 'deadly instrument of terror' called 'the Ponzi scheme'. Why was this instrument so deadly to any and all individuals and institutions that invested in it is because by it's very nature Madoff and his accomplices [including his extensive family network in the USA and abroad] was a self-destructive instrument that could never legitimately return the rates and base principles of money that had been invested in it from the very beginning. In other words whatever Madoff promised was completely irrelevant because he knew that he would eventually 'destroy the investment' and 'destroy the individuals/institutions livelihood. Thirdly, this analogy is very similar to the modus operandi of all the hundreds of terrorists with whom I have worked against including Arafat, Habash, PLO, PFLP, JRA, FARC, M-19, Noriega, Pol Pot, etc.  where the  terrorist first takes a hostage. In Madoff's case he 'targeted innocent individual/groups' held them 'hostage' through their investments and then literally 'pulled the trigger' and 'killed them financially' through a self-exploding financial instruments. And like all terrorists, he never had a moment of remorse, guilt and even continued to solicit more innocent victims right to the very end of his own admission of  'financial terrorism". The victims were killed and he sent out his 'terrorist cells' to recruit more 'innocent hostages' for his 'final solution' to the ethnic group which he had specifically targeted. Fourthly, like all effective international terrorist groups Madoff had recruited family members and others from all over the world in order to maintain the viability of both his terrorist organization called the 'Madoff Fund' through other worldwide 'terrorist cells' innocently called The Fairfield Greenwich Group exposure $7.5billion, led by Walter M. Noel and Jeffery Tucker [a former  S.E.C. lawyer]. Also involved in this extensive 'worldwide terrorist organization' were the four Noel Family son-in-laws of Madoff--Andres Piedrhahita based in Madrid and London; Yako Della Schiava, Italy and France; Philip J. Taub, Switzerland, Brazil and the Middle East. The Noel 'terrorist family cell' destroyed the following individuals an institutions : Korea Life Insurance, Abu Dhabi Investment Authority; The Town of Fairfield, Conn. ; and the Elie Wiesel Foundationa for Humanity. Clearly the list of 'targets of opportunity' is quite extensive including the Palm Beach Country Club in Florida.; the country club in the Twin Cities; Yeshiva University; Ramaz; Hadassah, etc. Simply stated NO EXTREME MUSLIM GROUP COULD HAVE DONE MORE DAMAGE TO INNOCENT JEWISH CIVILIANS AND INSTITUTIONS THAN THE TERRORIST BERNARD L. MADOFF. So what are 'terroriist techniques did he use to lure his victims into their final demise? Always remember that emotional/psychological manipulations can be as deadly as a shot from a gun. In the parlance of terrorism we call his techniques 'psychological warfare", much like the Al Qaeda group does all over the world. First he denies the truth. Then he distorts the truth by convincing individuals that they will be 'safe' in their investments'. Then he betrays them and manipulates their trust to such incredible degree that he made certain that he and his wife [also an accomplice as well as his sons]  sat on many of the boards which had invest in his 'terrorist Ponzi Scheme', maintaining the self-sustaining illusion that he and his family were legitimate, honest and trustworthy while all the time clearly constructing the financial demise of this 'financial hostages'. Madoff even went so far in his psy-ops campaign as to appear on USA television last year to assure the viewers that the clearly incompetent SEC and it's pathetic 'counter-terrorists' were outstanding examples of 'trustworthiness and financial and investigative prowess, all the while knowing that he had literally 'penetrated' through 'operatives' and 'business intelligence' their weakness and incompetentcy. In summary what the Madoff case present is the first of its kind of eliminating any psychiatric defense of insanity or mitigating circumstances and of trying this 'international financial terrorist' according to the laws designated specifically for prosecuting 'terrorists' who have committed 'acts of terror'. Anything less than that approach will be at best a travesty of justice and at worse an encouragement to other potential 'international individual/institutional terrorists' to pursue their inevitable destiny of maim and destruction of innocent lives and institutions."

"Chunk-Down that Goal and Get Out of Overwhelm

"Chunk-Down that Goal and Get Out of Overwhelm

By Jack Canfield  November 7th, 2008

Source Dream Manifesto

"Sometimes our biggest life goals seem so overwhelming. We rarely see them as a series of small, achievable tasks, but in reality, breaking down a large goal into smaller tasks-and accomplishing them one at a time-is exactly how any big goal gets achieved.

After you have decided what you really want, with specific deadlines, the next step is to determine all of the individual action steps you will need to take to accomplish your goal.

How to Chunk It Down
There are several ways to figure out the action steps you will need to take to accomplish any goal. One is to consult with people who have already done what you want to do and ask what steps they took. From their experience, they can give you all of the necessary steps as well as advice on what pitfalls to avoid.

Another way is to purchase a book or manual that outlines the process.

Yet another way is to start from the end and look backward. You simply close your eyes and imagine that it is now the future and you have already achieved your goal. Then just look back and see what you had to do to get to where you now are. What was the last thing you did? And then the thing before that, and then the thing before that, until you arrive at the first action you had to start with.

Remember that it is okay not to know how to do something.

It's okay to ask for guidance and advice from those who do know. Sometimes you can get it free, and sometimes you have to pay for it. Get used to asking, "Can you tell me how to go about...?" and "What would I have to do to...?" and "How did you...?"

Keep researching and asking until you can create a realistic action plan that will get you from where you are to where you want to go.

What will you need to do? How much money will you need to save or raise? What new skills will you need to learn? What resources will you need to mobilize? Who will you need to enroll in your vision? Who will you need to ask for assistance? What new disciplines or habits will you need to build into your life?

Another valuable technique for creating an action plan for your goals is called mind mapping.

How to Use Mind Mapping
Mind mapping is a simple but powerful process for creating a detailed to-do list for achieving your goal. It lets you determine what information you'll need to gather, who you'll need to talk to, what small steps you'll need to take, how much money you'll need to earn or raise, which deadlines you'll need to meet, and so on-for each and every goal.

When I began creating my first educational audio program-a breakthrough goal that led to extraordinary gains for me and my business-I used mind mapping to help me "chunk down" that very large goal into all the individual tasks I would need to complete to produce a finished product.

To mind-map your own goals, follow these steps as illustrated in the example:

Center circle: In the center circle, jot down the name of your stated goal-in this case, Create an Audio Educational Program.

Outside circles: Next, divide the goal into the major categories of tasks you'll need to accomplish to achieve the greater goal-in this case, Title, Studio, Topics, Audience, and so on.

Spokes: Then, draw spokes radiating outward from each mini-circle and label each one (such as Write Copy, Color Picture for Back Cover, and Arrange Lunch.)

On a separate line connected to the minicircle, write every single step you'll need to take. Break down each one of the more detailed task spokes with action items to help you create your master to-do list.

Next, Make a Daily To-Do List
Once you've completed a mind map for your goal, convert all of the to-do items into daily action items by listing each one on your daily to-do lists and committing to a completion date for each one. Then schedule them in the appropriate order into your calendar and do whatever it takes to stay on schedule.

Do First Things First
The goal is to stay on schedule and complete the most important item first. In his excellent book, < snip >, Brian Tracy reveals not just how to conquer procrastination but also how to prioritize and complete all of your action items.

In his unique system, Brian advises goal-setters to identify the one to five things you must accomplish on any given day, and then pick the one you absolutely must do first. This becomes your biggest and ugliest frog.

He then suggests you accomplish that task first-in essence, eat that frog first-and, by so doing; make the rest of your day much, much easier. It's a great strategy. But unfortunately, most of us leave the biggest and ugliest frog for last, hoping it will go away or somehow become easier. It never does. However, when you accomplish your toughest task early in the day, it sets the tone for the rest of your day.

By chunking down your goals, and then taking daily action on them, you create momentum and build your confidence, both of which move you farther and faster toward the achievement of your goals.

Now go take some action!"

"The Dogma for Success - Be a Dog with a Bone

Have a great one everyone! Sun Smiley

____________

"The Dogma for Success - Be a Dog with a Bone

By Peggy McColl  January 6th, 2009
Source Dream Manifesto

"There are those who work like a dog to make things happen, there are those who watch things happen, and then there are those who wonder what happened. Be the person who makes things happen.

Sometimes you have to work like a dog. If you want to be extraordinary, you must do the things that ordinary people are not willing to do.

Success does not occur through merely wishing for success. But it also doesn't occur through force. Trying to force success to happen, or getting incredibly frustrated when things are not happening exactly the way you would like, demonstrates an unawareness of the perfection of the universe.

Many years ago, I worked as a marketing manager in a division of a large international corporation. The company announced that it planned to merge my division with two other divisions. I could see the writing on the wall-the manager of one of the other divisions had much more seniority than I did. Rather than waiting to be squeezed out, I decided that I would set my own direction and work for a new division. I had been eyeing a division that was working with the latest and greatest in technology, called "Smart Technology."

I walked over to the other side of the building where it was located, and I borrowed a business card of one of the employees.  I wanted to get the vision of working for that division, so I removed his name from the business card and replaced it with mine.  It was my "bone," my desire was to work in that division.

An interesting thing happened: even though I was not pursuing his job, the guy I took the business card from ended up getting fired and I was hired to replace him.  Now, I don't think for a minute that he lost his job because of what I did, but isn't it amazing that when you're focused on a goal (a bone), things can happen in the most unusual ways?

All things are happening for a reason, and if you attempt to understand why everything is happening as it's happening, or understand why things have happened the way they have, you may meet with frustration.

Sometimes it is necessary to "let go" or, as has been said, "let go and let God." But letting go and letting God does not mean that you can sit back and wish for things to happen and not do anything about it. On the contrary, you do have a responsibility for what is going to show up for you in your life.

Creating success in your life is aligning all of the factors for success in a fashion that will produce your desired results, not the results someone else desired for you, but what you truly desire for yourself.

What are those factors? Depending on the outcome you are seeking, you'll create your own formula based on what you want to produce. There are, however, some fundamental ingredients that will be required, such as: passion, integrity, determination, focus, optimism, faith, a positive attitude, awareness, decision, commitment and love.

There is no single dog training program that will work for all dogs, just as there isn't one that will work for all humans. All dogs and all humans are unique.

What brings out the best in your dog is an understanding of your dog's individuality. The same applies to humans. For you to bring out the best in you, you need to understand yourself. Make it a study to really understand yourself: your behaviors, your habits, your areas of focus, your daily rituals, your choices and your unique talents. Become acutely aware of what you are creating in your life and discover the methods of turning your talents into the strengths that will in turn transform your goals into concrete manifestations.

If you want to be successful, find someone who is already successful and follow them around like a puppy dog. Success breeds success. Modeling another person's success will significantly reduce your time to reach success. Why? These "models" have already been there. They have learned the lessons. They have learned what to do and, more importantly, what not to do. Follow their example, but make it your own. Don't be a copy cat.

Enhance your own success by customizing the success techniques of another to suit your goals. Once you have done that, look for ways to improve these techniques for yourself."

"  You are on the leading edge of thought, taking thought beyond that which it has been before. Who cares what thoughts have led up to this. You're standing in the fresh now, and many of the thoughts that you vehemently oppose are the very thoughts that have given you the desire that has attracted the clarity of where you now stand. No matter how awful you think they might be, all were of value in the evolution forward. Every one of them."

"Finding Big Love Is Possible At Any Age

Great article containing sound manifesting principles for anything you want to bring into your life.  Hope you enjoy!  Big Grin

_______

"Finding Big Love Is Possible At Any Age

By Arielle Ford   January 5th, 2009
Source Dream Manifesto

"Is it your dream to find a soul mate?  A life-partner who will love, cherish and adore you? As someone who didn't meet and marry my soul mate until I was 44, I learned a lot along the way about what does and doesn't work in the world of love and romance.

Here's what I know for sure: finding true love is possible for any one at any age if you're willing to prepare your self, on all levels, to become a magnet for love.

This wonderful Universe of ours is set up to deliver the people and things we draw to us that our consistent with our personal belief system.  If you don't believe you will ever find the ONE, then, guess what?  You get to be right ...you probably won't.

If, however, you learn to believe that the ONE is not only out there but is ALSO LOOKING FOR YOU, then true love can be yours.

When I was in my early forties I decided to manifest my soulmate using everything I had ever learned about manifestation, psychology, spirituality, and the Law of Attraction.  My intentions became crystal clear while I simultaneously cleared out the clutter in my house AND in my heart.  I learned and invented techniques, rituals, visualizations and prayers that helped me prepare my body, mind, spirit and home for an amazing relationship.  And they worked. I met my husband, Brian, who has exceeded all of my desires and expectations. He was and is everything I ever wished for.

What if I told you that it's not your job to know HOW your soul mate is going to appear? What if I told you it's only your job to be ready, willing and open to love. Think about it this way: you really don't know where air comes from but you do believe that it's always there for you, right?

The same is true for love.  It's there for you.  It's always been there for you.  You just need to remember the love that you are and once you do, the Universe will deliver to you the perfect soul mate.

The basic Law of Attraction states that you will attract to you those things that match your state of belief. Believing that your soul mate is out there is critical to the preparation of manifestation.

I believe that the Universe is always mirroring back to us our beliefs about our selves and the world.  If we believe the world is a loving and friendly place, then most of the time that will be our experience. But, if we believe the world is a chaotic, stressful and fearful place, then that becomes our reality.  So, believing and knowing that your soul mate is out there is the most important part of the formula.

Prior to meeting Brian ten years ago, I had a daily ritual in which I would light several candles at sunset, put on my favorite CD of Gregorian chants and sit in my big, cozy chair.  With my eyes closed I would drop into the feeling of remembering the joy of having my soul mate in my life.  I would experience these wonderful feelings in every part of my body KNOWING that he was on the way. There were days when the thought that he was very late did cross my mind but I would just let those thoughts go and get back into a state of grace....feeling and knowing that his arrival was assured.

To manifest your soul mate here are the ten top things to do and remember:

    * Be the loving person that you are. Find ways to express more love to everyone in your life.
    * Live in the knowingness that you are in a loving, committed relationship.
    * Live that truth every day as you savor the waiting for your beloved to arrive.
    * Create a "vision map" of your romantic vision and look at it daily.
    * Write a list of the most important qualities your soul mate will possess.
    * Heal your heart of any past hurts that will prevent you from magnetizing big love.
    * Clear out the clutter in your home and create space for your beloved (especially in your closets).
    * Create an altar in the relationship corner of your home.
    * Listen to your intuition to take action when opportunities present themselves.
    * Fall in love with yourself. Know that you are loveable.

Big love is possible for any one of any age if you are willing to become a magnet for love.  Continue to live each day in the knowingness that you are in a loving, committed relationship as you savor the waiting for your beloved to arrive."

Abraham-Hicks Daily Quote

" When you try to justify where you are by pointing out how bad things are, you are headed in the wrong direction. Reach for the thought that feels better, And allow the natural Well-Being that is yours."
______

"  There is not a stream of badness and a stream of goodness, or sickness or wellness. There is only a Stream of Well-being. The question that you're wanting to ask yourself is, "In this moment, am I letting it in or not? Am I allowing it or am I not?"
______

"  But, what if what I want and what you want are in conflict? If I want rain, and you've just cut your alfalfa...how does that work?" If you will focus upon the essence of what you want (which is a magnificent new crop) and the other will focus upon the essence of what they want (which is a successful alfalfa harvest, or whatever)... and if either one of you doesn't get too involved in the details of how you think you want your desire to play out, then both of you can be satisfied. The Universe has the facility to orchestrate circumstances and events to accommodate everyone."

"Why Do Dogs Stick Their Heads Out Of Windows?

"Guest: I kind of promised I wouldn't ask this question. (I've mentioned it to people and they said, "Oh, don't.") But, this is a quick one: Why do dogs risk getting bugs in their eyes by sticking their heads out of car windows?

Abraham: Well, tell your friends that you have given us an opportunity to give the answer we have been waiting a very long time to give. And that is, because the contrast of the bugs in the eyes is a small price to pay for the exhilaration of that ride. And it is exactly the same way you felt when you made the decision to come into this physical existence. You knew there would be contrast here, but you said, the ride is going to be worth it!  "

"There is No Value In Suffering

"There is something in most of you that says "I don't think I should allow it to be absolutely easy because a part of me seems to want to justify my Well-Being by a little bit of struggle... as if it's not right for me to have any great success without, at least, a little bit of suffering." And we say, no suffering is of any value.

You don't have to go the hard way to things, but you do have to go from wherever you are. If one good thing happens today and a hundred bad things, talk about that good thing a thousand times--and talk not about any of the bad things. Play the good-feeling things over and over in your mind--emphasize everything that feels good.

The Universe has understood the things you have been asking for and is answering perfectly. And if you won't work to orchestrate the how and where and when, and who, but instead work to be in the receiving mode--as you practice rampages of appreciation, and as you collect fun things and beautiful things and use them to become an Ambassador of Well-Being -- the things you have been asking for will unfold in a continuum of extraordinary life experience. Those who don't yet know what you now know will stand flabbergasted as they see the stunning unfolding of your life experience. You've just got to get happy--that's all it takes."

"Money, and the Law of Attraction

"Your Story, and the Law of Attraction
Each and every component that makes up your life experience is drawn to you by the powerful Law of Attraction's response to the thoughts you think and the story you tell about your life. Your money and financial assets; your body's state of wellness, clarity, flexibility, size, and shape; your work environment, how you are treated, work satisfaction, and rewards-indeed, the very happiness of your life experience in general-is all happening because of the story that you tell. If you will let your dominant intention be to revise and improve the content of the story you tell every day of your life, it is our absolute promise to you that your life will become that ever-improving story. For by the powerful Law of Attraction, it must be!

Does Life Sometimes Seem to Be Unfair?
You have wanted more success and you have applied yourself well, doing everything that everyone said you should do, but the success you have been seeking has been slow to come. You tried very hard, especially at first, to learn all the right things, to be in the right places, to do the right things, to say the right things . . . but often things did not appear to be improving much at all.

Earlier in your life, when you were first dipping your toe into the idea of achieving success, you found satisfaction in satisfying the expectations of the others who were laying out the rules for success. The teachers, parents, and mentors who surrounded you seemed confident and convincing as they laid out their rules for success: "Always be on time; always do your best; remember to work hard; always be honest; strive for greatness; go the extra mile; there's no gain without pain; and, most important, never give up. . . ."

But, over time, your finding satisfaction from gaining the approval of those who laid out those rules waned as their principles of success-no matter how hard you tried-did not yield you the promised results. And it was more disheartening still when you stood back to gain some perspective on the whole picture and realized that their principles were not, for the most part, bringing them real success either. And then, to make matters even worse, you began meeting others (who clearly were not following those rules) who were achieving success apart from the formula that you had been so diligent to learn and apply.

And so you found yourself asking: "What's going on here? How can those who are working so hard be receiving so little, while those who seem to be working so little are achieving so much? My expensive education hasn't paid off at all-and yet that multimillionaire dropped out of high school. My father worked hard every day of his life-and yet our family had to borrow the money to pay for his funeral. . . . Why doesn't my hard work pay off for me the way it was supposed to? Why do so few really get rich, while most of us struggle to barely get by? What am I missing? What do those financially successful people know that I don't know?"

Is "Doing Your Best" Still Not Enough?
When you are doing everything you can think of, truly trying your best to do what you have been told is supposed to bring you success, and success doesn't come, it is easy to feel defensive, and eventually even angry at those who are displaying evidence of the success you desire. You even find yourself sometimes condemning their success simply because it is too painful to watch them living the success that continues to elude you. And it is for this reason-in response to this chronic condition in the financial affairs of your culture-that we offer this book.

When you come to the place of openly condemning the financial success that you crave, not only can that financial success never come to you, but you are also forfeiting your God-given rights to your health and happiness as well.

Many actually come to the incorrect conclusion that others in their physical environment have banded together in some sort of conspiracy to keep them from succeeding. For they believe, with all of their heart, that they have done everything possible to achieve success, and the fact that it has not come must surely mean that there are some unfriendly forces at work that are depriving them of what they desire. But we want to assure you that nothing like that is at the heart of the absence of what you desire or of the presence of things you would like to remove from your experience. No one ever has or ever could have prevented your success-or provided it. Your success is all up to you. It is all in your control. And we are writing this book so that now, finally, once and for all time, your success can be in your deliberate and conscious control.

Money Is Not the Root of Evil or of Happiness
This important subject of money and financial success is not the "root of all evil" as many have quoted-nor is it the path to happiness. However, because the subject of money touches most of you in one way or another hundreds or even thousands of times in every day, it is a large factor in your vibrational makeup and in your personal point of attraction. So when you are able to successfully control something that affects most of you all day, every day, you will have accomplished something rather significant. In other words, because such a high percentage of your thoughts in any given day reside around the topic of money or financial success, as soon as you are able to deliberately guide your thoughts, not only is it certain that your financial success must improve, but the evidence of that success will then prepare you for deliberate improvement in every aspect of your life experience.

If you are a student of Deliberate Creation, if you want to consciously create your own reality, if you desire control of your own life experience, if you want to fulfill your reason for being, then your understanding of these prevalent topics-money and the Law of Attraction-will serve you enormously well.

I Am the Attractor of My Every Experience
You are meant to live an expansive, exhilarating, good-feeling experience. It was your plan when you made the decision to become focused in your physical body in this time-space reality. You expected this physical life to be exciting and rewarding. In other words, you knew that the variety and contrast would stimulate you to expanded desires, and you also knew that any and all of those desires could be fully and easily realized by you. You knew, also, that there would be no end to the expansion of new desires.

You came into your body full of excitement about the possibilities that this life experience would inspire, and that desire that you held in the beginning was not muted at all by trepidation or doubt, for you knew your power and you knew that this life experience and all of its contrast would be the fertile ground for wonderful expansion. Most of all, you knew that you were coming into this life experience with a Guidance System to help you remain true to your original intent as well as to your never-ending amended intentions that would be born out of this very life experience. In short, you felt an eagerness for this time-space reality that nearly defies physical description.

You were not a beginner-even though you were newly beginning in your wee, small physical body-but instead you were a powerful creative genius, newly focusing in a new, Leading Edge environment. You knew that there would be a time of adjustment while redefining a new platform from which you would begin your process of deliberate creating, and you were not the least bit worried about that time of adjustment. In fact, you rather enjoyed the nest into which you were born and those who were there to greet you into your new physical environment. And while you could not yet speak the language of their words-and although you were perceived by those who greeted you as new and unknowing and in need of their guidance-you possessed a stability and a knowing that most of them had long left behind.

You were born knowing that you are a powerful Being, that you are good, that you are the creator of your experience, and that the Law of Attraction is the basis of all creation here in your new environment. You remembered then that the Law of Attraction (the essence of that which is like unto itself, is drawn) is the basis of the Universe, and you knew it would serve you well. And so it has.

You were still remembering then that you are the creator of your own experience. But even more important, you remembered that you do it through your thought, not your action. You were not uncomfortable being a small infant who offered no action or words, for you remembered the Well-Being of the Universe; you remembered your intentions in coming forth into your physical body, and you knew that there would be plenty of time for acclimating to the language and ways of your new environment; and, most of all, you knew that even though you would not be able to translate your vast knowledge from your Non-Physical environment directly into physical words and descriptions, it would not matter, for the most important things to set you on a path of joyful creation were already emphatically in place: You knew that the Law of Attraction was consistently present and that your Guidance System was immediately active. And, most of all, you knew that by trial, and what some may call "error," you would eventually become completely and consciously reoriented in your new environment.

I Knew of the Consistency of the Law of Attraction
The fact that the Law of Attraction remains constant and stable throughout the Universe was a big factor in your confidence as you came into your new physical environment, for you knew that the feedback of life would help you to remember and gain your footing. You remembered that the basis of everything is vibration and that the Law of Attraction responds to those vibrations and, in essence, organizes them, bringing things of like vibrations together while holding those not of like vibrations apart.

And so, you were not concerned about not being able to articulate that knowledge right away or to explain it to those around you who had seemingly forgotten everything they knew about it, because you knew that the consistency of this powerful Law would, soon enough, show itself to you through the examples of your own life. You knew then that it would not be difficult to figure out what kinds of vibrations you were offering because the Law of Attraction would be bringing to you constant evidence of whatever your vibration was.

In other words, when you feel overwhelmed, circumstances and people who could help you get out from under your feeling of overwhelment cannot find you, nor can you find them. Even when you try hard to find them, you cannot. And those people who do come do not help you, but, instead, they add to your feeling of overwhelment.

When you feel mistreated-fairness cannot find you. Your perception of your mistreatment, and the subsequent vibration that you offer because of your perception, prevents anything that you would consider to be fair from coming to you.

When you are buried in the disappointment or fear of not having the financial resources that you believe you need, the dollars-or the opportunities that would bring the dollars-continue to elude you . . . not because you are bad or unworthy, but because the Law of Attraction matches things that are like, not things that are unlike.

When you feel poor-only things that feel like poverty can come to you. When you feel prosperous-only things that feel like prosperity can come to you. This Law is consistent; and if you will pay attention, it will teach you, through life experience, how it works. When you remember that you get the essence of what you think about-and then you notice what you are getting-you have the keys for Deliberate Creation.

What Do We Mean by Vibration?
When we speak of vibration, we are actually calling your attention to the basis of your experience, for everything is actually vibrationally based. We could use the word Energy interchangeably, and there are many other synonyms in your vocabulary that accurately apply.

Most understand the vibrational characteristics of sound. Sometimes when the deep, rich bass notes of your musical instrumentation are played loudly, you can even feel the vibrational nature of sound.

We want you to understand that whenever you "hear" something, you are interpreting vibration into the sound you are hearing. What you hear is your interpretation of vibration; what you hear is your unique interpretation of vibration. Each of your physical senses of seeing, hearing, tasting, smelling, and touching exist because everything in the Universe is vibrating and your physical senses are reading the vibrations and giving you sensory perception of the vibrations.

So as you come to understand that you live in a pulsating, vibrating Universe of advanced harmonics, and that at the very core of your being you are vibrating at what could only be described as perfection in vibrational balance and harmony, then you begin to understand vibration in the way we are projecting it.

Everything that exists, in your air, in your dirt, in your water, and in your bodies, is vibration in motion-and all of it is managed by the powerful Law of Attraction.

You could not sort it out if you wanted to. And there is no need for you to sort it out, because the Law of Attraction is doing the sorting, continually bringing things of like vibrations together while things of different vibrational natures are being repelled.

Your emotions, which really are the most powerful and important of your six physical vibrational interpreters, give you constant feedback about the harmonics of your current thoughts (vibrations) as they compare with the harmonics of your core vibrational state.

The Non-Physical world is vibration.

The physical world that you know is vibration.

There is nothing that exists outside of this vibrational nature.

There is nothing that is not managed by the Law of Attraction.

Your understanding of vibration will help you to consciously bridge both worlds.

You do not have to understand your complex optic nerve or your primary visual cortex in order to see. You do not have to understand electricity to be able to turn on the light, and you do not have to understand vibrations in order to feel the difference between harmony or discord.

As you learn to accept your vibrational nature, and begin to consciously utilize your emotional vibrational indicators, you will gain conscious control of your personal creations and of the outcomes of your life experience.
