Clinton's temper tantrums in 1990

Had to chase this down but knew I'd read it.  It's correctly quoted and linked for reference.

"Setting the Record Straight
An open letter to Hillary Clinton.

By Dick Morris

Dear Hillary,

In your new book, Living History, you correctly note that when you asked me to help you and Bill avert defeat in the congressional election of 1994 I was reluctant to do so. But then you assert, incorrectly, that my reluctance stemmed from difficulties in working with your staff. You even misquote me as telling you: "I don't like the way I was treated, Hillary. People were so mean to me."

As you know, I never said anything of the sort. I had, in fact, no experience in dealing with either your staff or the President's at that point, and had not yet met Leon Panetta or George Stephanopoulos. My prior dealing with Harold Ickes had been twenty five years earlier.

The real reason I was reluctant was that Bill Clinton had tried to beat me up in May of 1990 as he, you, Gloria Cabe, and I were together in the Arkansas governor's mansion. At the time, Bill was worried that he was falling behind his democratic primary opponent and verbally assaulted me for not giving his campaign the time he felt it deserved. Offended by his harsh tone, I turned and stalked out of the room.

Bill ran after me, tackled me, threw me to the floor of the kitchen in the mansion and ed his fist back to punch me. You grabbed his arm and, yelling at him to stop and get control of himself, pulled him off me. Then you walked me around the grounds of the mansion in the minutes after, with your arm around me, saying, "He only does that to people he loves."

I continued to work for Bill since I felt a responsibility to do so until Election Day in 1990. But our relationship was never close and never the same. After the 1990 campaign we parted ways as a direct result of the altercation.

When the story threatened to surface during the 1992 campaign, you told me to "say it never happened."

That, and not the invented conversation in your memoir, was the reason that I was reluctant to work for Bill again.

Yours,
Dick Morris

what possible purpose is this serving???
The article was dated June 12, 2003 and in response to rewriting history in Hillary's book.

Purpose .... shows Clinton's rage which was highly evident on the interview with Chris Wallace.   Believe the Drudge headlines were "Purple Faced Rage" ... which if that same fervor were used to take bin Laden when offered or just plain kill him then 9-11 probably wouldn't have happened.

BTW I've got another story of his rage against a reporter asking questions about China-gate which was very real situation that has long range consequences. He got his pockets lined with payola disguised as campaign contributions, China got top secrets which put them decades ahead of where they were.
yes. i understood that part. what purpose is it serving our country now???
He insists keeping his face before the microphone unlike former presidents who go into semi-retirement and allow the newly elected president to carry on.

He's mugged for the camera so many times it's as if he's still holding office so if he wants to be in the public spotlight then he, his rage, his corruption remain very much the topic at hand.

Oh, and China-gate is a treasonous betrayal the US will be feeling for the next half century or more. It has done incalculable damage to our security and world power. Oh and if a Republican president had done it there would be a litany of documentaries already having been aired prime-time, PBS, cable.
Konane,

Thanks for cutting thru all the BS with this stuff and getting down to brass tax. People should not apply the same "forgive and forget" attitude to world leaders that they do, say, after an argument with their spouse, especially where national security is concerned.

I wonder if people who say we should not worry about things that Clinton says in his rage also don't care about what Al Gore says about the environment, or what Jimmy Carter says about Iraq. People constantly cherry-pick what they want to hear, and scold people for bringing up the things they don't want to hear. It's really being dishonest to themselves.
Todd, thank you for affording me the space to do it.

So many things were buried, obstructed, walled up, shredded and lately stolen by Berger, so intelligence couldn't compare notes that it's past time for it to come toppling out ...... especially since he's hair on fire to become "First Lady."
hope clinton and bush sr. continue to keep their faces visible. 7.3 bill. raised for global aid. bravo!!!
