Benji....why are your 7 hospitals shutting down ??   Lack of free funds from the government, less customers or overburden from people that can't/won't pay their bills ?  Since we have 2 primary care companies here in the greater Nashville area(Vanderbuilt & Tristar) not either one of them have closed any hospitals. Infact Tristar is expanding with Free Standing Emergency rooms throughout the state.

Once Medicaid funds are cut, this will affect many healthcare facilities to be able to provide the care for low income and/or no income patients or residents to receive what they may need. Out of pocket cost for these people will soar. Hospitals, clinics and nursing homes will not get the reimbursements to operate efficiently. Closers will occur and people will be sicker.

LB, you need to read where the cuts are being made. It will not affect anyone except the freeloaders and the Hospitals that have two sets of pricing. Those cuts are long overdue!

Mad respect for you Maddog, but you are wrong on this one. Everyone who receives Medicaid are not Freeloaders. Many, many retirees who have Medicare also qualify for Medicaid for supplemental payments of what Medicare doesn't cover. Many of the working (Poor) also qualify for Medicaid. Medicaid is not going to pick and choose who to cut. Once Federal funds are cut it will affect all of their clients. Medical facilities are insurance driven. They cannot sustain the quality of care if funding is cut, unless they only accept private insurances or private pay.
