Without Hollywood What Happens To Los Angeles

Comments:
who cares????
* Yeah,we know. No one watches TV or goes to movies anymore. They would rather be at one of the rallies of their disgraced leader, that's where all the action is.
* By the way: Can't help thinking about all this hostility toward Joe cuddling a baby. No defense on 45 wanting to both date & nail his daughter as a teenager. Then we read Joe is a creep but perfect 45 walks amongst us sinners.

In some ways, this is the most important strike in Hollywood history because its over existential issues, says Jonathan Kuntz, a film historian at the UCLA School of Theater, Film and Television. Were entering an era of scarcity. This is about a shrinking pie thats now being divvied up.

Hmmm...shared scarcity....what economic system does that sound like?

The joys of Socialism/Communism.....
BTW  other articles indicated that many of these things would be outsourced to foreign countries...does any of this sound familiar...aka international race to the bottom and the "Giant
S ucking sound"?
Hmm- Right- who spoilt the Rich by giving them Trillion dollar tax cuts? There's an article l recently read where more billionaires were made in the last year than ever before. The writers want a piece of that pie & the powers that be want to hang into their wealth at all costs. I wonder who's all for businesses flourishing & screwing the little guy?

* As for outsourcing: You not going to get South Koreans TV writers substituting their brand of TV for the American viewers. That stuff goes directly to Netflix. If you asking who's participating in socialism- look no further than the party who's all for screwing the middle class.
* If you asking who's participating in socialism- look no further than the party who's all for screwing the middle class.

That would be democrats.
*What legislation has the Republican passed since taking control of the house that BENEFITS the middle class?
*ALL l have heard from the GOP since Jan of this year are INVESTIGATIONS into Hunter Biden. Who pushed and passed the Infrastructure bill that benefits ALL Americans? Lowering insulin prices- the Repubs?
* When 45 was in office- he pushed and had the party pass Trillion dollar tax cuts for his buddies the wealthy Million & Billionaires. If it was so Popular with Americans.... Why did NONE of the GOP ran on that record, you know the " we got your taxes cut"
* Crickets*
The Writers Guild went on strike in May basically over" poor compensation for writers via residuals with the advent of streaming". And two days ago the Screen Actors Guild "hit the bricks" too. Someone asked "why should we care" without mentioning what there is to care about.

One grevience is AI likeness imaging. The new Indiana Jones movie starts with a flashback showing a younger Indiana Jones. Harrison Ford is 80 years old so I wondered what they did to make him appear 30 or 40 years younger. Found out it was done by an AI using Ford's image from over 30 years ago. Because he gets "star" billing, his contract probably addresses future use of name, image and likeness but the small role actors and extras don't. Doubt many of them get residuals.
I suppose caring about someone elses' problem is more of Democrat thing. Forcing an Ohio 10-year-old rape victim to go to another state for medical attention is part of a Republican agenda. Let's build walls to keep "those" people out and make it harder for many citizens to vote. Republican Vivek Ramaswamy wants natural born citizens to pass a test before being allowed to vote. Don't know what the uneducated MAGA supporters that Trump loves feel about that.

Weird how the religious right follows the side that could care less about "those" people.
It would be great if the strike lasted a lifetime but beggars cant be choosy. Ill be happy if all the actors and writers stay on strike for 2-3 years as I figure that would be long enough to destroy the economy in L.A. and most of California, the trickle effect will also destroy most other liberal areas which is just fine.
