America Will Miss Obama When He's Gone

http://www.theatlantic.com/politics/archive/2015/01/were-going-to-miss-obama-when-hes-gone/384551/

Comments:
There is a 70.999999% that will NEVER happen.
Gone but not forgotten. His name will make blood boil when spoken.
Republicans won't miss anyone, let alone a smart black man, that can turn a sh*t hole economy around better than they could ever dream of doing. As another very credible article confirmed, thw American People credit the President for whipping things into shape...PERIOD. Haters will hate, though.
Wish he would go today - let me miss him now.
Lucky Loser: you seem intent on making any criticism about Obama a race issue. That would be like me saying that every time you criticize George Bush it is because he is white and you are a racist. Of course that's ridiculous, as is the notion that people don't like Obama because he's black.
Much will be written about this president when he leaves office in 2017. Some of it good and some of it bad. But whether we like it or not race has always been a factor. Some even here has constantly questioned his racial identity with ridicule and scorn. They mock him with pictures of moneys, clowns, so as to make fun of other Blacks here. If this isn't racial, then after 60 + years on this Earth I don't know what it is.
LilSpeedy - Bush was called a monkey many times.
As usual, you get things ass backwards when you try to add your 1 cents. I was not referring to other people, I was referring to the local trolls at LP. Now say it's not so.
No Emily, you got it right.
He was referring to the other people here at LP, THE TROLLS, boy, if that isn't calling the kettle black, I don't know what is, and as usual the head troll thinks he can divert his tactics off by reversing what others think of him and his cronies...
Why don't you stop your whining speedo, every President has been mocked and it's not about color as much as you would like it to be. It's very simple, even for you to understand. It's about CHARACTER. Color has nothing to do with it except in your eye's.....
Maddog, you are as dumb as they come. You are the number 1 race-baiting troll on the LP. You and your cohorts keep confusion going on, so shut your hypocrite mouth.
LilSpeedy, Obama has damaged America a great deal with his absolutely horrendous foreign policy, his "blame American first" doctrine, his apology tours, his social justice politics, and numerous other things. If you think that statement has anything to do with race, then you truly are concocting it from someplace that doesn't get much light. I honestly feel very bad for you that you can never see anything in life without seeing it through the prism of race.

The opposite of racism is not seeing race in anything.
Speedy, that descriptive, is that the "Pot calling the Kettle Black"?
The more you assume that the problem of racism is limited to the Klan, the birthers, the tea party or to the Republican Party, the less you understand that racial domination is a collective process and we are all in this game. In my opinion, you can't see beyond Racism, because you are Racism.
Yep, that me , as dumb as they come. Simple methodology "If you don't like my comments, Don't READ them"...
Everyone has a right to their opinion. Some of the same things were said about Bush, but I gave him credit for what he did right. Something is wrong when all that is said about someone is negative, and it's coming from mostly republican. I am not a member of either party, I have voted for both. I am an independent and would not want to be anything else. I do not have to adhere to anyone's agenda.

What Republican have you ever voted for?
Mad dog, racism is not a collective process, it's systemic. You didn't pay attention in class huh?
Mad dog, racism is not a collective process, it's systemic. You didn't pay attention in class huh?
Not that it matters, but I voted for Sonny Perdue, who was governor before our present governor, Nathan Deal. Sonny and I attended the University of Georgia at the same time. Ask Emily. She knows both of them. There are others, but I am not trying to prove anything.
No speedy, that's where you're wrong, I listened very well in class. It is you who didn't. You deem that racism is Systematic, IT IS NOT. You interpret " A Collective process " as systematic, for which it is NOT. YOU can have Racism without Racist, therefore it is COLLECTIVE no matter how you choose to interpret it.
Well, the point is that lots of people go around calling themselves "independent", but in reality they are not. Lots of Democrats in New Jersey voted for Chris Christie in his re-election, but do I think for a minute those people are "independent"? Lol.

If it makes you feel better to call yourself independent, then go for it. But I read the blogs enough to know quite certainly that you are not.

Being independent requires you to weigh the facts and make decisions based on solely on actions politicians take. It's not being afraid to criticize anyone if they screw up or make the wrong decision. You on the other hand seem to approach politics more like a spectator sport, where you are actively cheering for one side and giving the other side raspberries. That's not being independent.
Well Todd, the same can be said about some republicans, who are actually RINO. I have never been afraid to speak up for myself and express my opinion. I don't try to change any one's thinking and will not let anyone change mine. I don't know you personally nor do you really know me. One's opinion of me does not hold water, I know who I am and that is all that matters.
MaddoI know that you would he saidg, when something is systemic it is in the system. Racism is very prevalent. Saying that it is not so, does not make it so. I am not afraid to talk about race, it's reality.

Maddog you don't know what you saying. When something is systemic, it is in the system. Racism is very prevalent. Saying that it is not so, does not make it so. I am not afraid to talk about race, it's reality.

This excerpt is from a "Black Professor" from Duke univ.
"" Can blacks be racist? The answer, of course, will depend on how you define racism. If you define it as “prejudice against or hatred toward another race,” then the answer is yes. If you define racism as “the belief that race is the primary determinant of human traits and capacities and that racial differences produce an inherent superiority of a particular race,” the answer is yes.   And if you define racism as “prejudice and discrimination rooted in race-based loathing,” then the answer is, again, yes. However, if you define racism as “ systematic Racism by those who have a disproportionate share of society’s power, prestige, property, and privilege,” then the answer is no. In the end, it is my opinion that individual blacks can be and sometimes are racists. However, collectively, blacks are neither the primary creators nor beneficiaries of the so called systematic racism that permeates society today. ""

So speedy, what it means is, either one of us can be a Racist without Racism, and that is not "Systematic". A good example would be, an ice cube which is dispersed from it's system, and you expecting it to stay as an ice cube without it melting. Just because it's in the "System", doesn't make it Systematic.
This has absolutely nothing to with systemic racism. You don't comprehend what I am saying because the system has benefitted you all your life. The same cannot be said about minorities. So save your BS for someone that will listen to that gibberish. If racism wasn't systemic, then why was it so necessary to march, sit-in, boycott, and go to jail for basis human rights?
"basic"
Well professor my opinion isn't BS, like yours. I opinionate with an open mind. As far as you
IMHO have a closed mind, and you try to resonate to others that you're still in chains. If I were to say you're black, you'd tell me and everyone else on these blogs , that you were white. You're not opinionated , you're Biased in your spewing's of BS, which is evident, so continue with your
systematic racism I'm sure your peanut gallery awaits your recital..
Your problem is that you know what I am saying is true. You will never admit it because to do so you may find out that you were part of the problem. So you'll just live in denial as though systemic racism has never existed.
Heh,heh, heh, talk about being systematic. why yes, you are..
That's right systemic. Look it up, you might learn something.
