Are the 10 Poorest U.S. States Really Republican?

Comments:
they can't be the most uneducated with all the money going for education from the taxpayers now.
Another common mistake in economic analysis, seen often, for example, in the (irrational) rationale that liberals use when resisting cuts in marginal tax rates, is to adopt a static rather than dynamic view—to see life and economic conditions in terms of snapshots rather than as a motion picture. In the politically motivated attempt to blame Republicans for the lower incomes in the 10 poorest states, CNN’s Cafferty and Democrats have taken one snapshot—of the census’ income statistics—and combined it with another snapshot—of current political leanings—to create the impression that Republican policies make America poorer.

What , Democrats do this. Yea you bet, it's their bloodline.   Thieves and Liars...!
To have an accurate comparison on the poorest states stats should include the percentage of people on gov't services. Those who choose to be intentionally poor.
Back at Christmas, it was nuts in the store, a woman told the cashier who was frazzled down to her last nerve," I'm I don't have to work"!, she of course paid for her christmas goodies with food stamps.
There is the mindset of many, who believe they have been chosen to be taken care of, they are somehow, not part of the working world, and the things that make the world tick is not much concern to them.
Sully,Maddog and Jap69 ,you guys can put any spin you like to this report or article, but the simple truth is it's true. I was born and raise in Mississippi and those are harding working people especially my people, that my family and Black people in general and believe you me the wages there are nothing to write home about ,unless they're Government jobs. My sister worked hard 26 yrs for a company and they took that job after having her to train the people, taking her job to Mexico and my brothers works as share chopper with my parents as kids and from there they worked Construction. They are still working ,some working two jobs and still there 's no sight of living the ideal middle class life. They ask for nothing and even if they did Miss don't have a safety net for people down on their luck. My sister which wasn't nearly ready for retirement ,got six month of unemployment and they was suppose to get two year of retraining ,so they could find other employment. That didn't happen under old (lard mouth ) Harley Babor( sp) and they didn't do as the other states did when that" gaint sucking sound came " .Use resources to help retrain their out of work people. They had to work fast food and service jobs, the wages are so low there are places in those states that still don't pay minimum wages. Practically no health .If you have to go to the ER and don't have a job ,that bill will be there waiting until you get that fast food job to pay. I consider them living as third world country situation for the poor. I couldn't believe they don't have property tax rebate. Whole different world there the reder the state the poorer.

I live in S.C. and I see the wage structure here as well. Most of these southern states are non union so that puts the residents at a disadvantage.
If you were to take away the union wages in these other states the rest of the population in those union states would probably fall in the same wage structure as southern states.
I worked non union in S.C. and seen the variables from one employer to another. I have also seen non us citizens hire on and cut the wage structure all to hell for the citizens,
i think the people on foodstamps, aid of any kind is proportionately even to republican and democratic politicks.one side doesn't get more then the other.
You say a lot of wacky, off-the-wall things, scorpio.
And that was one of them.
Scorpio, been waiting along to hear someone say that.
So your saying theres Republicans on foodstamps, disproves the theories that Republicans have all the money and their keeping people down cause their hooging all the money..
FYI, It's the foodstamp fraud===keyword FRAUD, THAT IS A MAJOR PROBLEM.
Most of the people who shop at my store call it their Obama money, they feel they deserve it whether they need it or not, so it would be fair to say most people are going to vote democrat to keep their handouts coming.

wrong again sulky.in the food stamp line there are no ways to ask them if they're repubs or dems, and they know that.we're talking about the wealthy 1% of republicans keeping middle class down, not the wanna be's that think they are wealthy, but aren't.
Get serious scorpio.
How many food stamp scammers do you really think are gonna vote Republican? Or ever did?
Pull your head out of there.
