America, quit whining about gas

http://www.cnn.com/2012/02/28/opinion/opinion-european-gas-prices/index.html?hpt=hp_c1

Comments:
The article fails to mention the import of oil within a nation and the domestic oil available that belong to the people of a nation.
I understand in Dubai and some Saudi nations that are flush with oil presumably that belong to the people the price of gas is $0.50 a gallon.
The US has an abundance of oil that belong to the people. But oil leases are let out to oil companies at a fixed rate per barrel. Which allows oil companies to charge the people prices based on world prices.
What this country needs is an oil company that produces oil products that belong to the people to begin with for US consumption prices.
Plus the the last I read the US gov't gets $0.46 a gallon in tax from the people skimmed off the top. Charging the American people a tax on something that already belongs to the people.
The last I read Alaska oil profits is distributed to the people yearly as it is the peoples oil of the state.
The lower 48 is getting shafted on oil products that belong to the people.
That's right JAP, Sarah Palin started that process of giving every single Alaskan man, woman and child a check every year for their share of oil profits.

Unfortunately, all the news media wanted to talk about was her daughter being pregnant and whether her Down's Syndrome child was really hers.

And of course, the constant reminders from geniuses like Bill Maher and Jon Stewart and Keith Olbermann and Chris Matthews and Tina Fey and Saturday Night Live about how stupid she was.

That's where the real hate is, the democrat party.
Just an article to further brainwash the population.
I heard yesterday about the cost to produce oil from algae the president mentioned for his green energy agenda.
The cost to produce oil per barrel from algae would be like $300.00 per barrel. I do not think that included refining cost.

Well! you are right the oil is sold on the world market and even if it is pump here . There 's not going be a $0.49 gal nowhere in the future. Oh! yes because of greed and those shareholders want their share. If you're a dumb ass and show it . It's your fault not the media you should think before you open your mouth leaving no doubt as to what your about.NO EXCUSE!!!
"If you're a dumb ass and show it . "
We can agree on that point Louise Black.

I read multiple news sources and I form my opinion on what I read.
"It's your fault not the media you should think before you open your mouth leaving no doubt as to what your about"

I agree with you on that point too.

nd this article was from 2009. Take into inflation what is the cost today

an excerpt
Algae biofuel startup Solix, for instance, can produce biofuel from algae right now, but it costs about $32.81 a gallon, said Bryan Wilson, a co-founder of the company and a professor at Colorado State University.

Investment in biofuels research
U.S. Energy Secretary Steven Chu announced the collaboration – called the National Alliance for Advanced Biofuels and Bioproducts - as part of an $80 million investment in advanced biofuels research

At that cost I will buy a horse and buggy.
Bale of hay and a bag of oats go a long way.

Don't ya love when someone calls other people stupid and crucifies others for their opinion and they don't even have their facts straight.   Sarah Palin did not start the process of giving all Alaskans a check for oil - it was started by Governor Jay Hammond in 1976.   Sarah Palin put into place Alaska's Clear and Equitable Share rule in 2007 which gave qualifying state residents a ONE time payment of $1200. She did this by raising the state tax charged to the oil companies from 22.5 cents per gallon to 25 cents per gallon. Which the oil companies then built into their prices - so in essence, anyone in the us who bought gas at that time paid for the $1200 rebate.
What! the hell are you JAP69 jumping on me for, I agree with you and my response was on the Sarah Palin thing of making her seem like she wasn't smart , she isn't smart and that a fact she open her mouth and that didn't leave any room for doubt. I still stand by that comment. Thank you ACPutz for putting that in perspective.
