A succinct explanation of the terror threat facing America (video)

In the 1990s, Newt Gingrich was demonized by the mainstream media because he had a powerful message that was supported by the majority of Americans, but with which the elites did not agree.

For those who don't really know much about Newt Gingrich, I would urge you to wipe out every preconceived notion you have of the man, and listen with an open mind to this intelligent, thoughtful person.

Newt Gingrich borders on what I would refer to as a "great thinker" in this country — one of the few.  He does a lot of charity work, and speaks plainly about America's problems.  His topics are well-researched, and always laid out in context of historical events.  He does not spin or blow smoke.

He did not run for president this year because it would mean that he would have had to give up his ownership of a very large charitable organization.

Watch this brief video to get a taste of the man and the terrorism threat that faces our culture and citizens.

  • Todd,
thanks for posting this video. I am amazed that people just don't get it. I was listening to radio talk show host Mark Davis in Dallas this morning and he had a caller ripping him because the war on terror is "too expensive" and "how long are we going to have to put up with the war". Like so many people, this caller just doesn't understand that the real expense happened on 9-11, and if we don't really get serious as a nation, another "payment" is coming.

  • This speech is from last year, and still rings right on. I have been a fan of Newt's clear thinking since the 80's. Thanks.

  • @jarasan: Yes, the speech is from August 2007, just six months ago. It is perfectly timed to the lack of substance being discussed in this campaign. See my previous post on Obama's middle name, and how THAT is the topic the media wants you to discuss. Like Newt says, they don't think the terrorism threat is as important, but they will the day after we lose a city.

  • Todd, I was listening to a radio show that airs every Sunday morning at 5:00AM. Last Sunday, the guest was an author, I've forgotten the name of the book and his name. It's about how muslims are slowly but surely becoming the majority. The author stated that in 20-30 years they would be the majority in all of Europe. If you look at the demonstations and events happening in Great Britian, Holland, France. You quickly realize that he's correct. We had better wake up and smell the roses or we will lose a city. I'm not a conspiracy minded person but I really feel we are losing ground fast. Our security should be the number one priority!!
