Post-WWII Packards were powered by inline sixes or straight eights until Studebaker took them over in 1955, and the last Packard was manufactured in 1957. Studebakers were produced into the '60's (1964? 1965?) with the Lark, a boxy compact. But they were responsible for the original Raymond Loewy-designed Avanti, which, at that time, was powered by one of the very few supercharged (not turbocharged) automotive engines of that time.
