My next door neighbor a few yrs. back was a staunch Democrat and she thought macaroni grew on trees. Another neighbor caught her son trying to drain some gasoline out of his motor home into a bucket...but he was opening the sewage waste drain. I figured he was a Democrat, too but I doubt he actually voted (seeing as how he probably couldn't have worked a voting machine).
Think about what, amber? That you didn't know whether to laugh or stick hot pins in your eyes? I'd say you're not too bright if those were the only options you could think of.
What you could have done is informed your ex-roommate that he was wrong and explained what the readings meant. Trust me, it's fulfilling to teach someone who is ignorant of the facts; heck, I have to educate Democrats all the time.

Being able to calmly and without attitude explain something to another is sometimes the greatest gift we can give them. This is especially important if we can also explain how their actions affect others. Easier said than done.
