Lottery by Day, Charts by Night

I spend my time studying Pick 3 workouts, strategies, and prediction methods... because my bills refuse to pay themselves. 😄 I'm also addicted to crypto day trading (the healthy kind). The lottery and trading have more in common than most people thinkthey're both about probability, discipline, and strategy. If you want lottery content plus trading wins, losses, and lessons, stick around!

3 Tips How To Win Pick 3 Lottery Consistently

The Key to Winning the Pick 3 Lottery Consistently: Strategy, Psychology & Risk Management

If you've ever wondered how some Pick 3 players seem to cash tickets over and over again like this recent payout below while others play for years without much success, you're not alone.

I've been studying and playing the Pick 3 lottery for years, and over that time I've been fortunate enough to hit winning numbers in multiple states on a regular basis. More importantly, I've also had the opportunity to teach other players who have gone on to win with these strategies and truth be told alot of them win wayyyy more than I.

No strategy guarantees a win—after all, every lottery drawing is a game of chance—but I do believe that how you approach the game can make a huge difference in how disciplined and consistent you are as a player.

Today, I want to share three principles that have completely changed the way I play the Pick 3 lottery.

Stop Guessing and Start Following a Pick 3 Strategy

One thing I learned early is that simply playing birthdays, anniversaries, or your old address wasn't the approach I wanted to take.

Sure...those numbers have meaning to you but it has nothing to do with winning the lottery.

The lottery machine doesn't know that.

Instead, I prefer using structured Pick 3 lottery strategies that I've personally tested over time in multiple states.

Different situations call for different approaches.

For example, I have strategies specifically for:

  • Pick 3 doubles

  • Repeat numbers

  • Number positioning

  • Monthly prediction methods

  • Other pattern-based approaches I've developed over the years

When I identify a group of numbers that fit one of my strategies, I don't immediately abandon them if they don't hit the first day.

I stay disciplined and in the game according to my strategy.

That's where many players struggle.

They'll play one number today...

A completely different number tomorrow...

Then chase yesterday's winning number the next day.

That's exhausting.

And expensive.

Consistency doesn't mean winning every draw.

It means staying consistent with your process.

Psychology Is the Secret Most Pick 3 Players Ignore

Believe it or not, I think psychology is just as important as finding good numbers.

In fact...

Winning can actually become dangerous.

Sounds crazy, right?

Here's what I mean.

A player finally wins a few nice tickets.

Suddenly confidence turns into overconfidence.

Instead of following the same strategy that produced those wins, they begin saying things like:

"I have a feeling about this number."

"This one just looks lucky."

"I know 777 has to come."

Next thing you know...

They're no longer following a system.

They're following emotions.

I've watched it happen more times than I can count.

Patience.

Discipline.

Self-control.

Those traits have helped me far more than chasing "hot" numbers ever has.

Mindset matters.

Risk Management: Protect Your Lottery Bankroll

Most people only think about winning.

Very few think about protecting their money.

That's where risk management comes in.

I actually compare Pick 3 to day trading because both involve uncertainty and probability.

Some days you win.

Some days you don't.

The goal isn't to win every single time.

The goal is to avoid one bad week wiping out an entire month's bankroll.

Depending on my confidence level, I might approach a play differently.

For example:

  • Sometimes I'll place a simple $0.25 Box bet on a number I'm testing.

  • Other times, when I have much higher confidence in a prediction, I may play it Straight 6-Way at $0.50 per ticket or higher.

Everyone manages risk differently.

Personally...

I'm pretty frugal.

Some of my students are much more aggressive than I am.

One student told me she won more than $44,000 on a single Pick 3 play.

Her ticket reportedly cost around $110, and she bought multiple tickets.

I'll be honest...

I probably would've been sweating before handing over that much money!

But congratulations to her—that was an incredible hit.

Don't Chase Yesterday's Winning Numbers

One of the biggest mistakes I see new Pick 3 players make is chasing yesterday's draw.

Just because a number hit yesterday doesn't automatically mean it's due—or not due—today.

That's why I stick to my strategy instead of reacting emotionally to recent results.

Having a plan before you walk into the store is much better than trying to invent one while standing in line.

Every Pick 3 Player Needs a Plan

Whether you're new to Pick 3 or you've been playing for years, I believe every player should have three things:

  • A proven strategy they've tested.

  • The discipline to follow it consistently.

  • Good risk management to avoid chasing losses.

Those three things won't guarantee you'll win every draw—but they can help you become a more disciplined player instead of relying on impulse.

Wrapping it up

I've spent years studying the Pick 3 lottery, creating strategies, and helping other players improve the way they approach the game.

Aa a matter of fact look at my recent previous blog post showing you proof that I called 68 hits for the month of June hitting multiple states....

At the end of the day, I believe the biggest difference between recreational players and disciplined players isn't luck.

It's having a plan.

What do you think is the hardest part of playing Pick 3?

Finding good numbers...

Being patient...

Or resisting the urge to chase?

You make lots of good points. I started playing over 20 years ago. Way before I had a computer or knew about LP.  I've learned a whole lot since then. Had a lot of ideas for things, developed a lot strategies, some worked out, some not so much. Like anything else it's all part of the learning process. There is always room for improvement. Everyone needs to come up with  what works best for them. That takes time to figure out.
Start slow. Check out what other people have done. There is plenty of info here on LP. Go back and read some posts and blogs from the old timers that were here from the beginning. You will learn a lot. Tracking is a big part of learning, but do not limit yourself to what everyone else does. Try to come up with your own ideas or methods for keeping track of things. Hey you never know, you might just crack the code and start winning every day. LOL

One big thing to remember. You don't have to play everyday. If you track A and B, or X and Y, wait till one or the other gets on a roll. That way you can be fairly certain  that, that thing is going to hit. If you have too many things on your charts that are going back and forth and you can't decide do as I like to say, If in doubt sit it out.  Wait a day or two or three till things settle down.
Also study the past winning numbers, not for what follows what or occasional trends. Look for things that happen quite regularly. For example, if a number has a mirror pair you may notice the mirror digits usually repeat in the next 2 draws quite often, or say on all even or all odd numbers you may  notice whether one or two digits usually repeat in the next all even or all odd combo. You may find things that aren't quite so random. However states may differ, what works on one may not work so well on another. Myself, I just stick to my state and concentrate on it.

Hot digits vs cold digits. Do you know when each is about to happen? Think of it this way. Numbers don't get hot or cold instantly like a light switch going on or off. They are like you wanting to boil a pot of water on an electric stove. You put the pot on the stove, turn it on and the water gradually warms up till it reaches the boiling point. It boils for a while, then you turn off the stove and the water gradually cools off and gets cold. That's how numbers are along with other things. Paying attention to the skips between the hits will tell you what is happening. The smaller the skips get the hotter it's getting, the bigger the skips the colder they get .

If the tried and true methods are so great, why aren't you winning all the time?
Don't be afraid to experiment and try something completely different. Think outside the box. Test it out, play on paper. If it works fine for you, great. If it doesn't what did you learn from it? How can use that info later on? And don't throw it out. You may get a new idea 3 years from now and wish you still had it to refer back to. The same thing if you change your tracking methods. Save everything for a rainy day. Track things different ways. You have separate draws and combined draws. Do it both ways, see what works best for you.
For example. Lots of people use positional tracking to get the straight orders in Pick 3 and Pick 4. I don't. Personally, I think it's too much guess work. I have my own method. Myself, I like to pick the straight orders before I choose my numbers. Crazy right? To me picking the order is the easy part. I select the order(s) then plug in the numbers.

Lastly budgeting. Everyone knows how much they won. But do you know how much you spent? If you are spending more than you are winning then you need to take a break and revise your strategy or methods. It's all right to take a break from the games to do this. It can take weeks, months, or years. It's perfectly okay to do that while you make improvements to your skills. Remember, Practice doesn't make perfect. Perfect practice makes perfect. The lottery isn't going away. It will be there when you are ready to play again. Good  Luck!!!
