RIP Glen Frey

Glen Frey, dead at 67. You will be missed.

He was a hometown boy and founding member of the Rock Band The Eagles.

The best concert I ever went to was The Eagles, Hell freezes over tour.

Can't even remember the warm up band, The Eagles took the stage and Timothy B. Schmit started with "Love will keep us alive" The crowd sat transfixed listening to every word every chord. Timothy has a beautiful voice.

Glen broke into one of his love songs, still we sat hanging onto every word.

After the love songs, they broke into Joe Walsh's Rocky Mountain way, the crowd erupted and from the moment on, we were all up and singing to every single song.

My heart is sad, Thanks for all the great music Glen, you will be missed.

Tears.

When I lived in Worthington (Columbus) Ohio I saw 2 Hell Freezes Over shows. My neighbor was a part time limo driver and he came over one day and said The Eagles were coming to town, would I like to drive a van taking the band members from the airport to the hotel then to the venue and back. HECK YEAH! FREE SHOWS! At the airport, the road manager gave each vehicle a flashing light to put on the dash. There were 5 limos, one each for Timothy B. Schmidt, Glen Frey, Joe Walsh, Don Henley, and Don Felder. My van had the extra musicians, 3 or 4 and the road manager. Some cars got a red flasher, some got a yellow flasher. Joe's car got a yellow flasher while Henley's got a red one. Joe was mad, told the driver his car was a red flasher car, not a yellow, so the next night his car got a red one. The first thing the band guys asked me when we headed to the hotel was where all the t*tty bars were. LOL. I just said they're in a part of town you don't want to be in. Great shows.

Always will be, one of my favorite groups. "Hotel California" will always be my favorite song. Walsh's licks on the live version is classic. My son has a friend who backed Henley on drums. He went to the backstage party after the show in Alabama.
