I disagree with pro-Trump pundits who think Putin would not have invaded if Trump had been reelected. Zelenskyy took office in the middle of 2019, the guy before him was a Kremlin ally, so Putin had no need to invade during the first part of Trump's term. After Zelenskyy took office, Putin needed to let him settle into the job to see if he was friendly or not. But then the pandemic happened less than a year into Zelenskyy's term, and you can't invade a country during a pandemic, so that's why there was no invasion last part of Trump's term. Putin would have invaded at the first opportune moment regardless of who the president was.

Trump was too unpredictable for Putin to take risks with. Putin couldn't get into Trump's head any better than most Americans can. And I don't think Covid stopped Putin, it was Trump. Biden is mentally unstable and even before he went senile, he was incredibly stupid, and he's always been a pussy. The whole world knows that, not just Putin. He actually told Obama not to go after Bin Laden when they had him dead to rights. Putin knows Biden's condition well after studying him and meeting with him. This war is a direct result of Biden's vacillating weakness and mental frailty. No doubt about it.
