Hateful Politics Help No One

I found this great little Sun-Times Article:

Daley says Kerry went too far with joke about president s fall

Some great quotes from the story:

"The thing I worry about in politics is all of these people hating one another [saying], 'I hate Kerry', 'I hate Bush.' I wish the normer presidents -- Carter and Ford and Clinton and Bush -- would all get up and tell people, 'You may support candidates, but don't hate the other candidate.'

"You see too much hate. And I'll tell you one thing -- hate will turn on people. . . . When hate gets in politics, it's a very, very dangerous aspect."

  • That article just shows how two-faced, arrogant, and what an elitist snob Kerry is. I do seem to recall Kerry having a riding accident a few weeks ago also. Maybe somebody should ask him, "Senator Kerry, how could you fall off a tricycle so easy?

  • Don't forget about the time this past winter when he fell down snowboarding and then cursed at and blamed the Secret Service agent (who was protecting him).

VERY WELL SAID!!! If we continue to be divided like this...Hate will definitely turn on people!!! Just reading these political posts on this forum at times remind me on how divided Americans really are, which in turn hurts America as a whole. I agree that past presidents both republicans and democratics need to speak to the American people in regards to giving support to one candidate and not hating the other. If one says that he doesn't hate the other and submit plenty of BS photos and so forth for others to see as jokes...he/she is fooling him/herself. With attitudes and actions like this, we as a country will continue to be divided and eventually fall. No matter who we may like to be president or not...my opinion is that whoever is in the office at that time needs all of the support that he can receive from Americans. It's time to push personalities aside and come together for the common goal of supporting troops, our country and saving as many lives as possible during this time of war. We are already fighting against another country...we don't need to fight among ourselves. I'm proud to be an American...I don't put much much energy in saying I'm a republican or democratic because in the end, does that really matter? Be proud of being an American and supporting our country and the rest will follow rather democratic, republican, conservation or liberal...let's come together as one. United we stand, divided we fall!! I'm personally offended by some photos that are posted on the forum from time to time in regards to the presidency candidates...it's not that I'm supporting one or the other...but I think it's a tasteless and thoughtless act and disrespectful to forum members who may be supporting that particular candidate. Many members may not speak up and pass something off like "scary kerry" to avoid waves with others, but we all need to think BEFORE acting on something at times. I live my life in a manner that I don't do anything to others or a group as a whole that I would not want done to me. Words are powerful and can be very hurtful to others--we all need to stop and think before speaking at times.

Hurt feelings surfaced when a spammer got into the forum and a post (words) by a forum member was perceived as hurtful...well the same can be said for one that is in 100% support of Kerry. My point being as the member who posted his/her post in regards to being "disappointed in Todd if he was affiliated..." -the same can be said of one who is supporting "Frankistein Kerry". I can not say that I was hurt by the post, however very disappointed and embarassed. With all the many members in this forum, I KNOW there are some that are supporting Kerry, and to all of them I apologize for the tasteless and thoughtless post in regards for one that he/she is supporting. I'm pround to be an American...the rest will follow!
