All these examples do NOT imply that gasoline is cheap; it just illustrates how outrageous some prices are!

You will be really shocked by the last one!

Compared with Gasoline...

Think a gallon of gas is expensive?

This makes one think, and also puts things in perspective.

Diet Snapple 16 oz $1.29 ... $10.32 per gallon

Lipton Ice Tea 16 oz $1.19 ...$9.52 per gallon

Gatorade 20 oz $1.59 ... $10.17 per gallon

Ocean Spray 16 oz $1.25... $10.00 per gallon

Brake Fluid 12 oz $3.15 ... $33.60 per gallon

Vick's Nyquil 6 oz $8.35 ... $178.13 per gallon

Pepto Bismol 4 oz $3.85 ... $123.20 per gallon

Whiteout 7 oz $1.39 ... $25.42 per gallon

Scope 1.5 oz $0.99 ...$84.48 per gallon

And this is the REAL KICKER...

Evian water 9 oz $1.49..$21.19 per gallon! $21.19 for WATER and the buyers don't even know the source

(Evian spelled backwards is Naive.)

Ever wonder why printers are so cheap?

So they have you hooked for the ink.
Someone calculated the cost of the ink at--
(you won't believe it...but it is true...)
$5,200 a gal... (five thousand two hundred dollars)

So, the next time you're at the pump, be glad your car doesn't run on water, Scope, or Whiteout, Pepto Bismol, Nyquil or God forbid, Printer Ink!

Just a little humor to help ease the pain of your next trip to the pump...

What's sad is my old Canon printer that I could refill the cartridges has just about given up the ghost. :(

I think the difference is the billions spent in oil subsidies & of course the record profits the oil companies post every quarter.

I've seen this done before.....how much other stuff cost per gallon in comparison to gas. The only thing about these things is that they are items that we don't need everyday to live. We can live without whiteout, Snapple, Nyquil, Lipton Tea etc. and even mouthwash but we need gas to get to work, pick up our children from daycare, go to the dry cleaners, go to church, ride our children to the mall and to the movies, but most importantly GO TO WORK. And you don't put brake fluid in your car as much as gas.

Don't give them any ideas.

i used to take me dog proudly,head out window,for a car ride.now gas is so high,i hitch her in a harmess,and have her pull me on bicycle.no-just kidding,but may be in near future!

Think we're experiencing a double whammy, China using about as much crude as we are increasing demand and price plus our dollar being devalued on the world money market.

We have the darling socialist press to thank for the latter, they spent the past few years denigrating the US and the sheeple world wide believed them.

The printer I have is a Canon :) I liked it so much that when I needed to replace another old printer, I went looking for this same model, instead of the *newer* version (which didn't have the feature that I wanted). Other people must like this one too. It is the only time I have ever seen the price of older PC equip go up and cost more than the new-&-*un*improved models.

Chip resetters and continuous feeding ink supplies are available through online auctions which I hope helps people bypass some of the expense of newer cartridges with built in printheads.

My Cannon is a BJC-6000, vintage 2000. When reading about repairing them it said there is a counter in those too which necessitates having to send it off to replace the waste ink pad (ink diaper in the bottom) for a fee about equal to a new printer. Or you can pay service fee and postage to let them replace the diaper and reset the chip so it will print again.

Certain Walgreens will fill it right on the spot for half price but not for all printers. I know Dell is out. You can call to see what store has the service.

And of course this got a blip on the news, good news is not good, since that would interfere with the misery index that they want to keep for the current, we are all bummed out 'cause we have to be 'cause if we were to be positive about something that would be bad 'cause it is all Bush's fault.

Thanks Jarasan! Very interesting article, and yes believe we have plenty of oil now that it's worth bringing to the surface.

Talking to hubby tonight I'm old enough [insert picture of dirt here!] to remember gasoline being around $.30 a gallon, gas wars dipping down to in the mid $.20 range when I was around 10.

It was around $.35 a gallon in the mid 60's. We've generally figured on the price of everything increasing about 10 x since then PRIOR to recent devaluation of the dollar and for that I'll bring it up to 11.5 x as of now.

Multiplying $.35 x 11.5 = $4.05 which is what regular averages around here. At that rate of increase gas costs about the same as it did back in the mid 60's given inflation since then and devaluation lately.

We've just been accustomed to really cheap gas for a long time due to the strength of our dollar .... and before China came on the scene setting to surpass our usage if they haven't done so already.
