Additionally, it is also purportedly the first time that someone who is not an official clergy person has been chosen for the presidential invocation, which is slated to be delivered at the beginning of the event.

Of course. He breaks with tradition for a new era for America.
It's all window dressing. It's his way of throwing a bone to the black community since he has never once visited a black community as a candidate or as President.

Though outwardly he seems to have chosen to identify with his black half, any political novice can see that for all practical purposes, he lives as his white half. It's all calculated, like when he adjusts his accent and cadence to suit blacks in an audience when he'd much rather be sharing a cigar with his preferred lily-white buddies out on the golf course. It's all show.

And it doesn't even have to be a good show when your audience is either bought and paid for or simply gullible.
Ramone, you would drive over the speed limit if President Obama invited you. He would use you to demonstrate that his administration included the handicapped.
