In 2001 the 107th Congress was Republican controlled until Republican Jmes Jeffords switched to Independent and announced that he would caucus with the Dems.
From 2003-05 the 108th and 109 Congresses were Republican controlled with a Republican President when they did most of their damage to Americas well being in the world on the way to their Great depression 2.
In Nov.2006 the voters tired of the Republicans screwing them over and tossed them out in favor of a democrat Congress which took over Jan.07 to Jan.11.
