Mitt Romney the front runner for 2016? I hope so!

He may have lost the 2012 election, but I am still as firmly convinced today as I was back then that Mitt Romney has the potential to be a truly great US president.  It would be rare to see a candidate come back for another run after a general election loss, but in my view it would be most welcome.

  • Todd, I agree and again, he would have my vote...!!!

    By tiparker119, at 1:17 PM

  • Romney had Obama by the jugular after the first debate but his campaign advised him to be nice. You cannot be nice to a community organizer who continually lies about everything. 2012 was Mitt Romney's campaign to win and him and his team blew it in the last couple weeks leading up to the election.

  • I voted for him before and I will do it again. Some members, Todd, on here, have common senses, others are lost. We can only hope they come to their senses. Lilluv and Speedy are so lost it is SAD.
One day them two will understand when they get their first OBAMA med premium.

  • I have to agree. If he does make another run, I hope he has his gloves off this time. Maybe people will have their EYE'S open this time around.....!

    By MADDOG10, at 6:07 PM

  • Wou;d vote for him.

    By emilyg, at 6:56 PM

  • I find myself more concerned with Congress, they all need to be replaced.

    By sully16, at 7:01 PM

  • @reddog, I am neither sad or lost, I'm an Independent and I enjoy voting for whomever. You are out of order when you try to pass judgment on people because they don't share your political beliefs. Everyone on LP are not republican and should not make a difference anyway.

  • @sully16 - I am personally not fond of the "throw them all out" mantras, because that's often how we go from bad to worse. Sure, some bad apples are thrown out. Be we also throw out people who are "pretty good" and replace them with socialists or people who can't work well with others.

    By Todd, at 7:20 PM

  • Is that the most plausible person they can come up with???...Jesus why do they keep insisting to lose an election?...No offense todd but I wish that as$hole would go stay with his money offshore somewhere.
All he can do is solidify the deal of WW3

  • Shame the election was stolen on the last go round, we would be rolling into a boom right now w/Romneytron, confidence is everything, and no one has any confidence in the barry POTUS, except the cronies.

    By jarasan, at 8:19 PM

  • @Todd, I know throwing them all out is not the solution, just venting.
I guess what I really want is a Congress that will undo this healthcare disaster, I want to see fiscal responsibility.
I don't want Socialism, I don't want big Government in every nook and cranny of my life.
I guess we're gonna have to wait and see where the road takes us, Hope for the best.

  • Isn't this the same guy that ran for president spent close to a billion dollars and later we find out he didn't even want to be president.

    By four4me, at 11:15 PM

  • @four4me - No, it's not. No idea who you're talking about.

    By Todd, at 8:51 AM

  • Well here's the story

    By four4me, at 9:24 AM

  • You have totally misconstrued the article and the meaning. EVERY student of history knows that the best politicians are the ones who don't make a career out of politics. The WORST politicians are the ones whose careers consist of nothing but politics.

You say "later we find out he didn't even want to be president", yet the MEANING is "later we find out that the guy's calling to help this country out of the mess it's in is greater than his desire to live a private life."

You want to slam Mitt Romney because you don't agree with him, then go ahead. But to question the guy's commitment to this country is misguided and ignorant.

    By Todd, at 9:32 AM

  • I'm not slamming anybody Mitt is a good man and he deserved to win the last election no doubt he might win the next election. I merely stated a fact his son told the news as the article states his wife pushed him to run.

I have no doubt he could run the country I'm just a little skeptical of a man any man who doubts their ability to do something.

Every one of you republicans go on the defensive when somebody points out flaws in your party. People have flaws everyone of them.

    By four4me, at 12:29 PM

  • Republicans always defend their people? Hmmm... I wonder what Democrats do. I guess they don't defend Obama when he gets slammed, eh? A little double standard?

Anyway, I point out flaws in Republicans when I see them. I also point out good things when I see them. So I'd appreciate it if you would not throw out blanket statements that are obviously aimed at me. I have supported Mitt Romney since the 2008 primary, and I voted for him in the primary in NJ. I was not not a big fan of John McCain.

You are also wrong about Mitt Romney, who you claim doubts his ability to be president. I think you're just being purposely misleading there. You know full-well that Mitt Romney does not doubt his ability to be president, and that's it is a lot different to be a little unwilling to let go of private life.

Of course all people have flaws. Who said they don't? I think we're seeing how some people are loaded with flaws in the current administration.

    By Todd, at 8:30 PM

  • I don't slam anybody's post about our elected officials. In fact i try and stay away from saying anything about it because most people take it to seriously, this whole country is being run by the rich has been run by the rich will always be run by the rich.

I'm not wrong about Mitt he's the loser in the last election and later it was found out he didn't even want to be president if you cant see the writing on the wall that's not my fault. You believe whatever you want.

    By four4me, at 4:07 PM

  • Um, you believe what you want.

    By Todd, at 7:26 PM

  • Romney lost for good reason. He is the most unamerican person who lives under our flag. From how he made his fortune to promises he made if he became president including doing everything in his power to weaken labor unions with rtw laws and getting rid of the davis bacon act. It's no secret republicans are for big business and are factually guilty for the past and current condition of the economy and why so many Americans are struggling today. Republicans have dug their own grave over the past 6 years or more and they and your average americans know this. They don't stand a chance in 16 against Hillary if she runs and I predict we'll see our first female president of this country. Just my humble opinion of course.

    By PaScratchAddict, at 10:04 PM

  • Hillary 4 president.

    By Ilovecash3, at 1:28 PM

  • God I hope not.
